On June 9th, the Hue City Youth Center, in coordination with the City Youth Union - City Children's Council, the Labor Union, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Hue City Police, and other relevant units, organized a free training course on drowning prevention skills and swimming lessons for children in 2026.
The program took place from June 9th to July 12th at the Hue City Youth Swimming Pool (Vy Da Ward, Hue), attracting more than 200 elementary and secondary school students, as well as trainees from talent classes and clubs affiliated with the center.

As part of the program, more than 150 participants took part in a workshop on water safety skills and drowning prevention for children , covering topics such as identifying drowning risks, prevention skills, handling emergencies, and practicing safe rescue procedures.

In addition, a free 15-session swimming course was organized for 60 children in Hue City, many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The students were instructed in basic swimming techniques, water adaptation skills, first aid, and how to handle drowning incidents.
A new feature of this year's program is the direct participation of the Fire and Rescue Police force on the river in guiding and practicing rescue skills. This activity is in response to the 2026 Action Month for Children , contributing to raising awareness and self-protection skills for children against the risk of drowning accidents during the summer.
