This thrilling match also went down in history as it saw Inter defeat their arch-rivals for the first time with a goal scored in the 90th minute or later.

After the first 15 minutes of cautious probing, the game unexpectedly exploded. From a low cross by Luis Henrique, Andrea Cambiaso awkwardly cleared the ball, leaving goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio helpless as the ball rolled into the net. However, the Italian defender redeemed himself by heading in the equalizer for Juventus from a cross by Weston McKennie just nine minutes later.

Inter created a series of dangerous opportunities before halftime. Piotr Zielinski's shot was cleared off the line by Gleison Bremer, while consecutive shots from Marcus Thuram and Alessandro Bastoni hit the post.
