According to BGR , shortly after Apple unveiled the iPhone 15 series, a new report revealed that the company is developing a new SE variant, the iPhone SE 4. Contrary to previous reports, the iPhone SE 4 project is being reconsidered, as Apple looks to reuse the iPhone 14 design for the next iPhone SE model.
Accordingly, in addition to removing Touch ID, the iPhone SE 4 will bring a series of upgrades compared to its predecessor. New details of the device include Face ID, a full-screen design similar to the iPhone 14, a 48 MP camera, an Action button, and USB-C connectivity. In particular, when combined with a powerful processor chip similar to or superior to the iPhone 14 Pro, the iPhone SE 4 will be a product worth looking forward to.
iPhone SE 4 will not be released until 2025
The iPhone SE line has long been popular because of its relatively affordable price. Therefore, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to continue to be the most powerful and affordable iPhone that Apple sells. However, the company does not seem to be ready to launch the iPhone SE 4 anytime soon, as a new report reveals that the launch date of this device will have to wait until 2025.
Specifically, a new blog post from MacRumors shows that the current development schedule for the iPhone SE 4 is expected to release in early 2025, in line with Apple's plans for the iPhone SE versions.
That will also be the time when Apple's A18 and A18 Pro iPhone 16 series will hit stores. So it wouldn't be surprising to see the iPhone SE 4 also get the A18 chip, the main reason for this is the appearance of Apple's GPT intelligent assistant (AI), which is also expected to be available on iOS 18.
According to a report by MacRumors , the iPhone SE 4 will have a similar design to the iPhone 14, with an aluminum frame, glass back, and flat edges. However, the device will only have a single rear camera, instead of a dual camera system like the iPhone 14. This camera will have a resolution of 48 MP, significantly higher than the 12 MP of the iPhone SE 3. In addition, other parameters are still quite similar to previous leaked reports, including the Action button, USB-C port, and black color.
