Iran: No progress in negotiations with the US.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that talks with the US had not made "significant progress" in the past few days, refuting Trump's claims.

On June 3, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated in an interview with Lebanese television channel Al Mayadeen: "Currently, no formal negotiations are taking place between Iran and the United States. However, messages continue to be exchanged."

According to Araghchi, Iran sent a message to the US this week, emphasizing the need to stop the Israeli attack on Beirut. “Our communication channels have not been cut. Both sides are still reviewing the existing framework,” Araghchi said.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump painted a more optimistic picture of the negotiations to end the conflict and suggested that a potential breakthrough could occur as early as this weekend.

Trump even asserted that Iran had agreed not to possess nuclear weapons and that he might meet with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei if things "go smoothly."

In related developments, Foreign Minister Araghchi said the conflict between the US and Israel and Iran would only end “when it also ends in Lebanon.” “We stand by our position on the ceasefire and our position on ending the conflict,” he said.

Iran has repeatedly stated that any ceasefire agreement must include Lebanon – a clause that threatens to disrupt negotiations between the US and Tehran. An end to the conflict must mean the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon, where Israel has been targeting Iranian-backed Hezbollah since early March.

Currently, Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a ceasefire on the condition that Hezbollah ceases all attacks and removes its forces from southern Lebanon. Araghchi argued that all parties, including Hezbollah, must participate in national dialogue to resolve Lebanon's internal problems.

The conflict in the Middle East began with the US and Israeli attack on Iran on February 28, disrupting global energy markets and sparking strong protests from the American public just months before the November congressional elections.
