During a meeting in Amman on November 17, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani agreed to call for an end to Israel's military actions in Gaza and Lebanon.

In addition, on November 17, Pope Francis suggested that the international community should investigate whether Israel's military campaign in the Gaza Strip constitutes genocide against the Palestinian people. Israel's ambassador to the Vatican, Yaron Sideman, rejected the genocide accusation, asserting that Tel Aviv was merely exercising its right to self-defense against Hamas and protecting its citizens.
In another development, Reuters, citing a source familiar with the matter, reported that US special envoy Amos Hochstein plans to travel to Beirut, Lebanon, on November 19 to negotiate an end to the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel. News of Hochstein's visit comes after Israel launched an airstrike on central Beirut on November 17, killing Mohammed Afif al-Naboulsi, Hezbollah's chief spokesman.
Regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip, WAFA reported on November 18 that at least 50 people, mostly children, were killed and dozens more injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting an apartment building in the Beit Lahiya area (northern Gaza).
