Johnny Trí Nguyễn is restarting the 'Heroic Bloodline 2' franchise.

Actor Johnny Trí Nguyễn recently posted on his personal Facebook page an announcement seeking screenwriters for the film 'Heroic Bloodline 2: White Swallow of Cà Mau'.

The announcement stated: "Chánh Phương Films is recruiting screenwriters to join two independent writing teams, developing scripts in parallel for the feature film project 'Heroic Bloodline 2: White Swallow of Ca Mau ' ." He added: "We were working on this film before, but then Covid-19 hit, and we had to stop… Now, it's almost the 20th anniversary of the 'Heroic Bloodline' film, so let's do it!"

"The White Swallow of Ca Mau" is the title of Mr. Nguyen Chanh Minh - the father of actor Nguyen Chanh Tin, and also the grandfather of Nguyen Chanh Truc (Charlie Nguyen) and Nguyen Chanh Minh Tri (Johnny Tri Nguyen) - two nephews who call Nguyen Chanh Tin their uncle. Director Charlie Nguyen said: "The White Swallow of Ca Mau was famous in the Mekong Delta during the resistance against the French. Johnny Tri Nguyen will play the grandfather, the founder of Lien Phong Quan, which Johnny Tri Nguyen is now continuing at the Lien Phong martial arts school (Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City)."

The film "Heroic Bloodline," directed by Charlie Nguyen and starring Johnny Tri Nguyen and Ngo Thanh Van, was released in 2007. It set a box office record at the time, with an estimated revenue of 10 billion VND (but still failed to recoup its production costs). "Heroic Bloodline" is considered a highlight of Vietnamese cinema, receiving many positive reviews. It won the Silver Lotus Award at the 15th Vietnam Film Festival.
