J&T Express is increasing its delivery workforce during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Despite economic fluctuations, people's demand for Tet (Lunar New Year) shopping remains significantly high. The popularity of "online shopping" also contributes to the vibrant picture of the Tet delivery market.

The shipping market is bustling ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. Nguyen Long, a post office manager at J&T Express in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the number of orders during the Tet holiday increases two to three times compared to normal days. This year, his post office recorded an increase of about 20% in orders compared to the same period last year.

Besides standard orders, the Lunar New Year season also sees a surge in special orders such as apricot blossoms, orchid pots, peach blossoms, tables and chairs, etc. The large volume and size of these items lead to longer delivery times and higher shipping costs, but customers still happily choose delivery services for their convenience.

Furthermore, this is also the time when many customers return to their hometowns, leading to situations where orders go undelivered. This is especially true for businesses, factories, garment workshops, and processing plants, where workers often return home early for Tet (Lunar New Year), further complicating the delivery process. In this situation, shippers and post offices must actively contact customers to assist with deliveries and work with stores to agree on solutions for unsuccessful orders.

According to a representative of J&T Express Vietnam: As Tet (Lunar New Year ) approaches, the volume of orders increases significantly, and the staff has to work at 200% capacity to keep up with the influx of Tet orders.

In the final month of the year, the shipping company implemented recruitment and training for new personnel to ensure continuous 24/7 service. Not only were the shippers equipped with in-depth knowledge of delivery procedures, but they were also trained to work professionally with retail stores.
