The programs on K+ are approaching their final episodes, and it's time to say goodbye to viewers. |
After the early matches of the 19th round of the English Premier League concluded, K+ Television also almost ended its programming in Vietnam. Prior to this, popular series in sports such as Formula 1 racing, UFC martial arts, and Asian basketball had already ended.
The weekly talk show "Premier League Club" has also come to an end. During the broadcast, MC Thu Hoài couldn't hold back her emotions and shed tears as she thanked and said goodbye to the audience in the final episode. “From January 1st, 2026, K+ will cease its pay-TV operations in Vietnam. On behalf of K+ Television, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our viewers for the past 16 years,” shared Mr. Pham Tuan Dat, Sports Director of VSTV.
On December 28th, MC Tú Linh, who hosted many programs on the satellite channel, also bid farewell after the final Super Sunday match. “These are the last Premier League matches broadcast on K+. We would like to thank you for your continued support over the years. We hope that K+ will always be a beautiful memory in the hearts of sports lovers. Thank you for everything and goodbye,” the channel shared on its Facebook page on the morning of December 31st.
After its broadcast in Vietnam ceases, the English Premier League will be broadcast on theFPT Play system. This broadcaster has also heavily promoted its acquisition of the broadcasting rights for the world's most exciting football league until the 2031 season. The company also announced it will broadcast UFC. Meanwhile, TV360 will handle the broadcasting of Asian championships.
For 16 years, K+ pioneered DTH transmission technology, using a satellite system to provide high-quality content to Vietnamese users. The company also excelled in securing broadcasting rights for top sports tournaments. However, its initial high pricing strategy and slow technological transition caused it to fall behind in the OTT (Over-the-Top) competition.
VSTV, the company behind K+, has been mired in losses for many years. The biggest burden for this broadcaster is the copyright fee, worth tens of millions of USD and increasing every year.
