In its early days, the 189th Submarine Brigade (Navy) faced many difficulties, such as: the pressure to master submarine operations in the shortest possible time; and the new and unique nature of its mission... Overcoming all difficulties and challenges, the officers and sailors have always been united and dedicated, driven by the aspiration to contribute to building a regular and modern submarine force.

To achieve these results, the unit implemented various measures, including promoting the study and emulation of President Ho Chi Minh's teachings. The brigade has developed and effectively implemented many models of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, such as: "One Law a Day, One Legal Situation a Week," "Exemplary Couple," "Four-Good Submarine Sailor," "Birthday Celebration at Sea," "Sea Voyage Newsletter," etc. Among these, the "Exemplary Couple" model is a shining example.

Proud to serve on the front lines of the Fatherland, Truong Sa Island, Brigade 146, Region 4 of the Navy, has successfully completed all assigned tasks. Recently, the island has welcomed delegations from agencies and units on the mainland to visit and encourage the military and civilians. The officers, soldiers, and people on the island have always done their best to ensure a thoughtful, warm, and heartfelt reception, fostering a strong bond between the military and civilians, and guaranteeing absolute safety in all aspects.

We learned that in Naval Region 5, units throughout the region have developed and promulgated regulations and rules on revolutionary ethical standards for cadres and Party members; and plans for studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings. 100% of cadres, Party members, and the general public have signed annual commitments to self-cultivation, training, and striving for excellence. The region is promoting the "Determined to Win" emulation movement in conjunction with campaigns at all levels and sectors, and programs and activities launched by the Army and the Navy... doing a good job in mass mobilization and special propaganda.

According to Colonel Ngo Van Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the 5th Naval Region, to continue studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, units strictly maintain the building and implementation of commitments to striving, cultivating, and training soldiers; using the results of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style as an important criterion in emulation, commendation, and evaluation of the quality of organizations and individuals annually. Along with that, they promptly identify, honor, and replicate exemplary advanced collectives and individuals, contributing to encouraging and motivating officers and soldiers to successfully complete their assigned tasks.

Bearing in mind President Ho Chi Minh's teaching, "In the past, we only had night and forests. Today, we have day, sky, and sea. Our coastline is long and beautiful; we must know how to protect it," naval officers and soldiers, from the mainland to distant islands, on every ship, island, offshore platform, and radar station, constantly strive to fulfill their assigned tasks. The Navy is always proud to be the core force in protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands, ensuring that the Fatherland is not caught off guard from the sea.
