Tourist numbers in Phu Quoc remained stable during the September 2nd holiday.

The number of tourists visiting Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone on the first day of the September 2nd holiday increased slightly compared to the same period in 2024. In addition, other destinations in An Giang, such as Hon Son, Nam Du, Ha Tien, and the Seven Mountains region of An Giang, also saw a large number of tourists coming for recreation and entertainment.

Phu Quoc boasts the world's longest three-wire sea-crossing cable car.

On August 31st, the An Giang Department of Tourism announced that tourists are flocking to Phu Quoc Island for recreation and relaxation at the high-speed ferry terminals and Phu Quoc International Airport. Many 4- and 5-star hotels on the island are also reaching their expected occupancy rates.

Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, a tourist from Can Tho City, shared: “For the September 2nd holiday, my family chose to go to Phu Quoc after more than two years since our last visit. Indeed, Phu Quoc is always a quality destination for all segments. Besides the well-developed transportation infrastructure, from roads and waterways to air travel, it also boasts pristine mountains and forests, and stunning islands with clear blue waters and long stretches of white sand…”

Moreover, Phu Quoc has attracted investors to many unique and unparalleled tourist attractions such as the Hon Thom cable car, the Kissing Bridge in An Thoi, the Grand World Phu Quoc complex, and Phu Quoc Safari, catering to a diverse range of domestic and international tourists. We are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to experience the services of this pearl island during our 3-day, 2-night vacation on this beautiful island.”

According to the An Giang Department of Tourism, on the first day of the September 2nd holiday, An Giang tourism welcomed over 77,000 visitors, a slight increase compared to the same period in 2024; of which, over 4,800 were international tourists.

Total tourism revenue reached 142 billion VND, an increase of 29.9% compared to the same period in 2024. Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone alone welcomed over 22,000 visitors, an increase of 5.9% compared to the same period in 2024; of which, over 4,800 were international visitors.

Due to the rainy, thunderstorm-filled, and windy weather conditions during the first few days of the September 2nd holiday, caused by the influence of typhoon number 5 and a tropical depression, tourism activities, especially outdoor recreational activities, island tours, and sea excursions, have been affected.

Tourists celebrate the September 2nd holiday on Phu Quoc Island.

In addition, this year's September 2nd celebration included a parade and march commemorating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day in Hanoi. Therefore, a large number of people and tourists flocked to the capital to watch and celebrate, so the number of visitors to An Giang during this year's holiday only increased slightly, not dramatically.

To ensure that tourists visiting An Giang during the holidays have a joyful and safe time, the An Giang tourism industry is always ready to welcome visitors, ensuring adequate facilities and services, upgrading infrastructure, adding new tourism services, diversifying products, and developing many promotional programs to best serve the needs of tourists…
