The day before the 10th Nha Trang Sea Festival opened, the hotel with a beautiful view in the coastal city reached a relatively high occupancy rate, some places were full a few days earlier.
This year's sea festival attracts visitors by combining artistic light shows with more than 1.653 drone devices, instead of fireworks like previous festivals. Many tourists from the western provinces, the Southeast, Hanoi and the Central Highlands flocked to the coastal city to enjoy this performance.
"I used to watch drone demonstrations in China through the small screen, now I heard about Nha Trang's performance on the occasion of the Festival, so I decided to come and see it with my own eyes," said Ms. Thanh Hoa (living in Long An).
Nice view hotel full of rooms
The performance with drones is high, so high-rise hotels with open views directly looking at April 2 Square will benefit the most at this festival.

As noted, the hotels located near the festival venue all have occupancy rates of over 80%, some places are fully booked 5 days before. A representative of a hotel located opposite April 2 Square, said that the hotel's room capacity on the opening night (June 4) had peaked, guests booked nearly a week before the opening day. The room occupancy for the remaining days is relatively high, approximately 3%.
For hotels located in the alley but with a view to watch the drone show, there is still a decent room capacity. Ms. Tran Lam Phuong, sales manager of Sun Kiss Nha Trang hotel, said that although the establishment is disadvantaged in terms of location, the new and clean rooms should be sought by tourists. This Festival, the room capacity of Sun Kiss Nha Trang hotel reached 75% on the opening day of the festival. Most of the guests come from the western provinces.
Phuong added that currently, the airfare is still relatively high, so the segment of visitors from the North has decreased. At weekends, tourists from neighboring areas such as Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong, travel by road, choose to stay at hotels mainly. On this occasion, the number of domestic tourists still accounts for the majority, but there are not many visitors.
The occupancy rate of hotels located on the main road Tran Phu but far from April 2 Square has increased slightly. In a quick exchange with reporters, hotels such as Sunrise Nha Trang Beach Hotel & Spa, Comodo Nha Trang all have over 4% occupancy. Guests are mainly from the vicinity of Nha Trang.
In contrast to the view hotels near April 2 Square, those located deep in the inner city are quite sparse. “The room capacity is only about 4%, the group guests rarely have festivals. We hope from tomorrow to welcome more retail guests from neighboring provinces to Nha Trang,” said Mr. Cao Huy, hotel owner on Hoang Hoa Tham Street.
The survey shows that although the beginning of summer coincides with the holiday, hotel prices do not increase compared to weekdays. Some hotels in the 3-5 star segment have a slight increase in price, but in return, visitors are offered many combo services.
“The room occupancy from June 2-6 of the facility ranges from 6%-50%. On this occasion, guests staying at the hotel will enjoy more incentives, such as daily breakfast, gift of a grilled seafood tray, airport pickup and drop-off by shared car, voucher of 65 VND to use food services at the hotel, 300.000% discount on spa services," shared Truong Minh Toan, General Manager of Potique Hotel on Hung Vuong Street.

Various measures to protect visitors
According to Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, it is expected that in the 4 official days of the Sea Festival 2023 (June 3-6), the locality will welcome about 6 visitors to visit, stay and experience tourism products.
“In order to maintain the brand, the tourism industry of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa has been focusing on improving the tourist environment, security, order and safety for visitors. On the occasion of this Festival, businesses will deploy many stimulus programs, discount combos, promotions, and new tours to attract tourists to the locality", a leader of Khanh Hoa Tourism Department informed.
The leader of Nha Trang City People's Committee said that due to the forecast that visitors will come to the city during the festival, the unit has directed relevant agencies to propagate and remind service businesses to ensure food safety issues, and publicly list prices at business establishments.
The leader of Nha Trang city also said that he had sent a document to the departments, agencies and departments, the People's Committees of communes and wards of the city on creating QR codes to promote city tourism and requesting a public listing.
"This is an activity to support and provide essential information for visitors to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa and to promptly support and solve problems related to the quality of tourism services, product prices ... at tourism service establishments in the area," said a leader of Nha Trang City People's Committee.

The People's Committee of Nha Trang City asked communes and wards to organize campaigns and request tourism service businesses in their respective areas to post QR codes to introduce Nha Trang and information on hotlines to support tourists. And, complete listing in each room, room of the accommodation establishment; at the reception area, lobby, elevator, each dining table, the cash register of the catering business; added phone numbers of commune and ward police to business establishments in April.
Nha Trang City also recommends Nha Trang Station to post the above QR code and hotline information at ticket counters and waiting areas of Nha Trang Station; Nha Trang Bay Management Board completed listing at ticket counters, waiting area at Nha Trang Tourist Wharf.
Nha Trang City also asked the Department of Transport to ask owners of tourist transport businesses and taxi services to list QR codes to introduce Nha Trang and information on hotlines to support tourists in cars, taxis, etc.
Leaders of Khanh Hoa Tourism Department also said that the unit has 2 hotline phone numbers. “The Department of Tourism suggests that if you have any concerns about the quality of tourism, you can report them through the hotline *2258 and 0947.528.000 of the application. The functional force will be there in 15 minutes to handle it," the leader said.
