Organizing activities to teach and learn Khmer letters for students is the duty of the whole society. In recent years, teaching and learning Khmer script has been regularly renewed, improving the quality in terms of content and form, with the goal of attracting more and more students to participate in learning, contributing to preserve and promote the cultural identity of the Khmer nation, and at the same time help them gain more knowledge, understand more deeply about their culture, and prepare well for the new school year.
The Department of Ethnic Minorities provides books and teaching and learning equipment for teachers and students.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thuat, Deputy Head of the Department of Ethnic Minority Affairs of Ca Mau province said: “In order to implement Decree No. 1749 of the Prime Minister and to implement Project 06 on preserving national cultural identity, 2023, the Committee Ethnic minorities in Ca Mau province developed Plan No. 26, dated May 9, 5 to teach and learn Khmer letters in the summer for students in Ca Mau province. The Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs has coordinated with the People's Committees of districts and cities to direct the Department of Ethnic Minorities to coordinate with the communes to teach the children summer. This is the determined direction of the Provincial Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs to preserve the language and writing of the Khmer ethnic group.
