Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam speaking |
Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW has identified the core content of the industrialization and modernization of the country in the 2021-2030 period as promoting strong application of science - technology and innovation, especially achievements of the fourth industrial revolution; create breakthroughs in productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness of industries, fields and the whole economy; implement a comprehensive, substantive, effective and sustainable digital transformation; consider digital transformation as a breakthrough new method to shorten the process of industrialization and modernization. Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW also identifies the digital technology industry as one of six fundamental industries, in which smart manufacturing on the basis of 1G networks is the core of the digital technology industry.
According to a forecast of Ericsson Group, by 2025 the Asia-Pacific region will attract two-thirds of global manufacturers, of which the leading position belongs to smart manufacturing industries. Currently, 2 countries in the region including Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand have deployed the production of 3G smart technology devices. Vietnam is also evaluated by Ericsson as an attractive destination with revenue from the 7G industry estimated at $5 billion by 5.
Vietnam is also ranked in the group of digital technology consumer economies among 40 economies actively pursuing Industry 4.0. In which, Vietnam's equipment and digital technology imports ranked 15th, technology exports ranked 46th and patent activity ranked 48th out of 150 economies.
However, according to a World Bank study published in November 11, in Vietnam's manufacturing industry, 2021% of products are created using machines controlled by humans, 70% are handmade, only 20% use computer-controlled machines, and less than 9% use more advanced technologies such as robots, 1D additive manufacturing. Only a small percentage of Vietnamese enterprises participate in innovation activities. It can be seen that the development of smart manufacturing in Vietnam is facing many opportunities, difficulties and challenges.
Therefore, promoting the shift from assembly and processing to product production in the direction of Make in Vietnam; innovation in Vietnam, design in Vietnam and manufacture in Vietnam; develop, master production technology, promote R&D; developing the creative industry and digital content ecosystem in Vietnam; policies to support businesses, especially traditional enterprises, manufacturing enterprises to convert to smart production, providing products and services on digital platforms, etc., are issues that need special attention in the current context.
At the seminar "Digital transformation and green transformation of the service industry in the process of industrialization and modernization to 2030, with a vision to 2045", said Pham Tien Dung, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, the banking industry has issued a digital transformation plan quite soon, a green bank development project. Currently, about 72-73% of adults have a bank account. “There cannot be a perfect public service if people do not have bank accounts and still use a lot of cash. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the percentage of people with bank accounts, especially the disadvantaged, "said Pham Tien Dung.
