
On the evening of June 26th, at Ly Tu Trong Flower Garden (Thuy Khue Street, Tay Ho Ward, Hanoi), the Hanoi City Department of Tourism , in coordination with the Tay Ho Ward People's Committee, organized the opening ceremony of the Hanoi Lotus Festival 2026 with the theme "The Colors of Hanoi Lotus".
Attending the program were members of the Politburo and Secretaries of the Central Committee of the Party: Nguyen Duy Ngoc , Head of the Central Organization Department; Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; former members of the Politburo and Secretaries of the Central Committee of the Party: Phan Dien, former Standing Member of the Central Secretariat of the Party; Ngo Van Du, former Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee of the Party; and members of the Central Committee of the Party: Le Tien Chau, Deputy Prime Minister; and Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Government.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Dang Huong Giang, said: "The lotus flower has long been a noble symbol, embodying the beautiful values in the character, spirit, and soul of the Vietnamese people. In Hanoi, the lotus is not only a gift from nature, but also a distinctive mark associated with the spiritual life, culture, and art of this land of a thousand years of civilization."
The Hanoi Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Tay Ho Ward People's Committee, will organize the Hanoi Lotus Festival 2026 to realize the policy of developing the cultural industry, transforming heritage potential into practical resources to promote the socio-economic development of the Capital, and thereby continue to preserve, protect, and promote the traditional cultural values of the people of Hanoi.

This year's Hanoi Lotus Festival will take place from June 26th to 28th, 2026, at various locations throughout Hanoi.
Specifically, Tay Ho ward has three areas: Ly Tu Trong Flower Garden, Tay Ho Creative Cultural Space, and Lac Long Quan Flower Garden.
In addition, the festival includes activities in 16 communes, wards, and lotus-growing areas throughout the city. This is the largest festival ever held to celebrate the beauty of the lotus.
Among the activities celebrating the beauty of the lotus, noteworthy spaces include: the "Lotus - Essence and Life" space showcasing over 30 unique lotus varieties from Hanoi and many other localities nationwide; experiencing handicrafts, OCOP products, fashion, and creative art inspired by the lotus flower; learning about lotus silk weaving, enjoying traditional lotus tea, and discovering the culinary essence of lotus.
The "Lotus - Art and Creativity" space brings together calligraphy and fine art works about lotuses, along with painting activities. The "Lotus - Performance and Community" space features folk art programs, street art, and the "Lotus on the Streets" parade, creating vibrant cultural colors and spreading the beauty of lotuses and Vietnamese ao dai dresses to visitors.
In addition, accompanying activities such as the "Fragrance and Beauty of West Lake Lotus" photography exchange, the lotus tea culture space, and art performances promise to bring memorable experiences.
The Hanoi Lotus Festival 2026 is being held in the context of Hanoi's focus on developing the West Lake area into a high-quality cultural, tourism, and service center of the capital.
Through the festival, Hanoi continues to exploit the unique landscape, cultural, and ecological values of West Lake to create distinctive tourism products.
This is also an important step in the orientation towards building the Hanoi Lotus Festival into a national-level annual cultural and tourism event, forming a distinctive tourism product of Hanoi, promoting the development of cultural industries, creative economy, and promoting the image of the capital city.
