Attending the event were Comrade Huynh Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from departments, agencies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and political and social organizations of the province; leaders of the communes of Doc Binh Kieu, Thap Muoi, My Tra ward, My Tho and a large number of local people and tourists from all over.

At the ceremony, delegates watched many unique artistic performances praising the homeland of Dong Thap , especially the musical performance "Legend of the Lady of Go Thap", which helped delegates and tourists understand more about the Lady of Go Thap - a goddess considered to be the embodiment of protection and blessings for peaceful lives and bountiful harvests.



At the same time, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and delegates performed the ritual of offering gifts and incense to express their respect and gratitude to the Lady of Go Thap Shrine.


Speaking at the festival, Ms. Le Thi Mai Trinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized that the Ba Chua Xu Go Thap festival has long been a unique cultural and religious activity of the people of Dong Thap province in particular and the Southern region in general. The festival not only reflects a rich spiritual life but also provides an opportunity for the people to express their deep gratitude to their ancestors, praying for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, and a life of abundance and happiness.
With its exceptional historical, cultural, and artistic values, on June 27, 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially included the Via Ba Chua Xu Go Thap Festival in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This is a well-deserved recognition of the efforts of the Party Committee, government, and people of the province in preserving the cultural identity.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Mai Trinh, in 2026, the festival will be organized in an expanded space, preserving the essence of traditional culture, including both ceremonial and festive parts with many cultural, artistic, and sports activities to serve the people and tourists.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism respectfully thanks the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and the entire political system from the provincial to the grassroots level for their continuous attention, leadership, and support in creating favorable conditions for the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with organizations, individuals, and the people of Dong Thap province, to preserve and promote the value of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The 2026 Lady of Go Thap Festival will take place from April 30th to May 2nd, 2026 (corresponding to the 14th to 16th days of the 3rd lunar month of the Year of the Horse) with the following ceremonies: Bathing the Lady, praying for peace, inviting childbirth, offering to the God of Agriculture, and the main sacrificial ceremony. Alongside this, there will be a photo exhibition on the cultural and tourism heritage of Dong Thap province; a performance reenacting the story of the Lady of Go Thap; introductions and promotions of tours, routes, and tourist areas and attractions in Dong Thap province; and the organization of a traditional Go Thap market... |
