Attending the opening ceremony, on the Dien Bien province side were: Mr. Tran Quoc Cuong, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. On the Thanh Hoa province side were: Mr. Do Trong Hung, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Do Minh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang emphasized: “The Dien Bien - Thanh Hoa Culture and Tourism Week in Thanh Hoa Province in 2024 is an important activity towards commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory and organizing the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien Phu 2024. This event is also an opportunity to introduce the cultural values and tourism products of the Dien Bien Phu region to tourists and the people in general; to introduce and affirm the achievements of cooperation in various fields between Dien Bien province and Thanh Hoa province in general. Through this, it also contributes to strengthening exchanges, expanding linkages, and promoting investment development between the two localities, demonstrating the cultural harmony and solidarity between the people of Dien Bien and Thanh Hoa. At the same time, it continues to promote and further strengthen the good relationship between the two localities, especially in coordinating and supporting the organization of typical activities and events of Dien Bien and Thanh Hoa provinces.”
Welcoming Dien Bien to Thanh Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Dau Thanh Tung, affirmed: Continuing the spirit of solidarity and unwavering friendship throughout the construction and defense of the Fatherland between Dien Bien and Thanh Hoa provinces, the Dien Bien - Thanh Hoa Culture and Tourism Week 2024 is an opportunity to introduce the historical and cultural values and distinctive tourism products of the two provinces; blending together in the space of "Cultural Colors" of the ethnic groups of the Northwest region and the ethnic groups of Thanh Hoa. Through this event, the achievements of cooperation in all fields between Dien Bien and Thanh Hoa provinces are once again affirmed; creating many opportunities to connect cultural and tourism products, contributing to promoting linkages and developing tourism and the economy between Dien Bien and Thanh Hoa, as well as with the whole country and internationally. Dien Bien and Thanh Hoa will be shining examples in jointly creating a brand, contributing to the further development of Vietnamese tourism, reaching out to the world, and achieving many new milestones in the future.”
Immediately following the opening ceremony, delegates, locals, and tourists enjoyed a spectacular art program titled "Dien Bien, Thanh Hoa – A Convergence of Colors." The program consisted of two parts: "Heroic Dien Bien – Thanh Hoa" and "Dien Bien - Thanh Hoa: A Convergence of Colors." It featured many works deeply rooted in the national identity of Dien Bien and Thanh Hoa provinces, evoking a range of emotions in the audience.
