Speaking at the opening of the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang said: "In the current period, Dien Bien province and Thanh Hoa province are promoting cooperation in the fields of economy - culture - society, enhancing exchanges, exchanges and expanding links, promoting investment and development between the two localities; continuing to demonstrate the cultural harmony and solidarity between the two localities. At this conference, Dien Bien wishes to contribute to strengthening the introduction, promotion and advertisement of tourist destinations, tourism products and services, intangible cultural heritages and tourism development orientation of Dien Bien province; strengthening connections, links and cooperation in tourism development between Dien Bien province and Thanh Hoa province; creating opportunities for tourism businesses and units to promote information exchange, market development...".
In his welcoming speech, Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung hoped and also believed that Thanh Hoa tourism businesses and reporters from press agencies present at the conference would actively support Dien Bien province in promoting and contributing to spreading Dien Bien tourism to Thanh Hoa people and domestic and foreign tourists; at the same time, building and connecting attractive tourism programs to bring visitors from Thanh Hoa to Dien Bien and vice versa. Along with that, comrade Dau Thanh Tung also hoped that agencies and units of Dien Bien province would support reporters and Thanh Hoa tourism businesses in accessing and finding information about new destinations and services of the locality...".
Comrade Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, suggested that Dien Bien and Thanh Hoa provinces pay attention to building a close cooperation mechanism, specifying joint activities, annual action programs, and arranging appropriate implementation funding. At the same time, they should focus on developing a chain of local tourism products that are unique, high-quality, competitive, and attractive to domestic and foreign tourists, increasing the exchange of tourists between the two localities. Comrade Ha Van Sieu called on tourism businesses and press agencies to work together in building Dien Bien tourism products, Thanh Hoa tourism, and the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024 so that the tourism industry of Vietnam in general and localities in particular can develop further.
At the conference, many companies and travel businesses gave their opinions on building new tourism products in addition to Dien Bien's historical tourism; creating a difference for Dien Bien tourism in 2024; the current development of A Pa Chai tourism; improving traffic infrastructure, reducing travel time to Dien Bien; improving the quality of human resources for community tourism...
On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on tourism development cooperation for the period 2024 - 2026 with the contents of cooperation in State management of tourism, cooperation in developing tourism products, cooperation in promoting and advertising tourism; cooperation in training and fostering tourism human resources.
