Exploiting tourism advantages and potentials

The proposal to order provincial-level science and technology topics in 2025 has just been placed by the Department of Science and Technology (KH & CN) with organizations and individuals inside and outside the province to participate in the implementation. The accepted and applied topics will contribute to exploiting the advantages and tourism potential of the province.

Development of Mui Ne National Tourist Area

With the potential advantages and diverse types of tourism, the Department of Science and Technology has proposed the following topics: Developing Mui Ne fishing village tourism, Phan Thiet city in a sustainable direction; Digitizing tangible and intangible cultural heritage in Binh Thuan province; Researching and building a geotourism model in Suoi Tien - Mui Ne area and Phu Quy island, Binh Thuan province. Accordingly, the topic of the Mui Ne fishing village tourism product chain model represents a set of data on population characteristics, resident attitudes and factors affecting the sustainable development of Mui Ne fishing village tourism. Along with that, there is the participation of local people, through sightseeing, experiencing people's lives, enjoying cuisine , and space to introduce local culture. The model introduces at least 2 tours to visit Mui Ne fishing village community tourism, each tour has 20 tourists and is highly appreciated by tourists for their satisfaction. Regarding the regulations on managing business activities and exploiting the Mui Ne fishing village model, the implementing unit issued a framework of guidelines on operating, coordinating, and managing fishing village model activities to create a legal corridor for tourism businesses and establishments to implement.

Meanwhile, the topic of Research and development of geotourism model in Suoi Tien - Mui Ne area and Phu Quy island requires the construction of two geotourism models in these two areas, at the same time, testing each model, proposing solutions for geotourism development for each area. The Department of Science and Technology also oriented the main product of the topic to provide a report assessing the tourism development potential of Binh Thuan province; geotourism model and products in Suoi Tien - Mui Ne area and on Phu Quy island; geotourism map of these two areas at a scale of 1/10,000; related geotourism tours; guidebook, geotourism training materials.

With the topic of Digitizing tangible and intangible cultural heritage in Binh Thuan province, it is necessary to build a data system and a website network on the most typical and characteristic types of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the province. Digitize ancient and typical artifacts at exhibition houses and cultural museums; move towards building exhibition spaces and virtual reality explanations at museums and exhibition houses. Spatial models and 3D data systems of artifacts and cultural heritage are also highlights of the topic.

Create the right tourism product

“Through ordering scientific and technological topics, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinates with localities and businesses to promote tourism promotion and linkage activities. Specifically, it is necessary to strengthen promotion and linkage activities, create tourism products suitable for many tourism market segments. Select and selectively participate in tourism activities and events; propose to build new tourism products, strengthen the construction of inter-regional tours and routes to diversify tourism products, coordinate tourism activities between provinces in the region so that tourism in the province truly becomes a smooth activity, with higher competitiveness. At the same time, in tourism exploitation, management agencies are associated with environmental protection, maintaining the natural ecosystems inherent in tourist destinations”, said Mr. Nguyen Hoai Trung - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology.
