SHB Personalizes Each Card Product: According to a recent study by Medallia, a US-based customer experience management company, 82% of consumers tend to choose brands that can provide them with personalized experiences based on an understanding of their behavior. Attributes such as age, spending needs, and touchpoints along the user's payment journey are top priorities. Recognizing these key factors, several businesses and financial institutions in Vietnam have focused on developing products tailored to the specific needs of each customer group. For example, in developing credit cards at SHB, from the initial concept stage, the marketing team thoroughly researched consumer behavior to create suitable policies for different customer segments such as golfers, businesspeople, managers, housewives, and young people from Generation Z… Furthermore, the bank structures its product lines based on family members. Similar to the three card lines – Visa Platinum/Platinum Star, Mastercard Cashback, and Mastercard FCB – within the "SHB Card Family" ecosystem, surveys show that fathers who frequently travel for business, social events, and accommodation are well-suited to the Platinum card. This card offers exclusive privileges including access to airport lounges, luxury restaurants, and resort hotels. The Cashback/FCB card, with its superior discounts and cashback offers from a wide range of brands and restaurants, is more suitable for mothers and children who enjoy shopping, traveling , and dining. Ms. Nguyen Thu Hoai (45 years old, Hanoi), who owns a card within this ecosystem, says she is particularly impressed with the Mastercard Cashback card. "As the head of the household, besides paying for groceries and daily meals for the whole family, I also pay for my children's school fees, medical expenses, and insurance... Therefore, I really needed a card with high cashback discounts to offset some of my monthly expenses. And the SHB Mastercard Cashback card has met that need," Ms. Hoai shared.

Attractive rewards for cardholders. Another impressive highlight for SHB cardholders is that the bank consistently offers a wide variety of promotions and discounts.
The number of gifts will vary depending on when the bank implements the promotional program. However, customers in the "SHB Card Family" ecosystem will always receive certain privileges to maximize benefits when using the service.
For example, from now until February 28, 2025, all international credit card holders will receive a 50% discount on foreign currency transaction conversion fees, with different discount levels applied to each card type. Specifically, each Mastercard World card will receive a maximum discount of 5 million VND; Visa Platinum/Visa Platinum Star cards a maximum discount of 3 million VND; and Mastercard Cashback/FCB cards a maximum discount of 2 million VND. Furthermore, at the end of the program, the top 5 customers with the highest foreign currency spending volume for each card type will be considered for prizes and have the chance to win valuable gifts, including a first prize of an iPhone 16 ProMax worth 37 million VND; a second prize of an Apple Air iPad worth 24 million VND; and three third prizes of Apple Watch Series 10 worth 13 million VND each. During this period, customers who register for a new SHB Visa Platinum/Visa Platinum Star card and generate a minimum spending of 8 million VND or more will receive a cashback of 1 million VND. Cardholders will also receive up to 5% cashback (maximum 600,000 VND) if their cumulative spending in the food and beverage sector on Saturdays and Sundays reaches 500,000 VND per statement period... With SHB Mastercard credit cards (Casback and FCB), new cardholders with a minimum spending of 5 million VND will receive an immediate cashback of 500,000 VND. Customers will also receive free installment payments for 3 months or a 20% discount on installment payments for 12 months at all payment points, similar to other credit card lines. Notably, from 9:00 AM to 11:59 PM every Saturday, customers shopping online on Shopee and paying with their SHB Mastercard international credit card will receive an e-voucher offering a direct discount of VND 100,000 on orders from VND 600,000. In addition, customers holding cards from the SHB card family will receive a discount of up to VND 40,000 per trip when using the Green Car Taxi/Green Car Luxury/Green Bike/Green Express services. An SHB representative shared, "Our understanding of customers is clearly demonstrated through products tailored specifically to each customer group. This is also SHB's strategy for developing its card lines in the future to best serve individual customers." The "SHB Card Family" marks the beginning of SHB's strategy to reposition its international credit card lines towards personalization, currently comprising four cards: SHB Visa Platinum, SHB Visa Platinum Star, SHB Mastercard Cashback, and SHB Mastercard FCB. As of October 31, 2024, the number of newly issued cards increased by 55% compared to the same period in 2023. Transaction volume for these card lines nearly doubled.
