Discover Khe Song - Silver Waterfall

Instead of going to the beach, you might want to "change things up" one day by swimming in the cool waters of high waterfalls and enjoying mountain cuisine . There's an attractive destination for you: Khe Song-Silver Waterfall. This area is being developed into a tourist attraction for Uong Bi City in 2024.

Located in Khe Su 2 village (Thuong Yen Cong commune, Uong Bi city), the scenery of Khe Song - Thac Bac can be likened to a private haven with pristine nature, perfect for short picnic trips to "get away" on weekends.

Located at the foot of the Yen Tu mountain range, Khe Song-Thac Bac appears like a soft silk ribbon winding around the mountainside, amidst the vast and lush green forest. According to locals, the area is named as follows: at the headwaters, there is a large waterfall that splits into two branches flowing parallel to each other downstream, so the locals call this area Khe Song (meaning "river stream"). Silver Waterfall is the name of the most beautiful waterfall here. At the top of the waterfall, during the rainy season when water is abundant, the powerful stream cascades down, creating a white, shimmering spectacle in the reflected sunlight. The waterfall is named Silver Waterfall because of this.

The journey to explore Khe Song - Silver Waterfall is not too difficult. The waterfall slopes gently, not too high, and steps have been built for visitors to easily climb. Visitors will wade through the stream, exploring each tier of the waterfall . From the mountaintop, hundreds of meters high, down to the base, there are up to 10 tiers of waterfall for visitors to see and explore. The pleasant sound of the babbling stream, blended with the tranquil atmosphere of the forest, makes the journey even more relaxing.

With its majestic mountain scenery, the Silver Waterfall, perched atop the mountain, stands out as a perfect highlight, creating an ideal backdrop for photos with friends and family. Visitors can also freely enjoy swimming in the streams and the refreshing coolness of the surrounding pools.

At Silver Waterfall, visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine such as stream fish, free-range chicken, "piglet carried under the arm" (a local delicacy), and many other unique dishes prepared by the local people. At the pools halfway up the waterfall, there are flat areas or stilt houses where visitors can rest, admire the scenery, or have small meals after swimming. To better serve visitors, rest and dining areas have been built at the foot of the waterfall to serve guests after their tour.

On hot days, it would be wonderful to soak your feet in a cool stream, or pitch a tent to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the mountains and forests. Additionally, visitors can stop by Khe Song - Thac Bac for a visit. The area around Da Trang stream, Yen Tu flower valley, and the Dao ethnic minority conservation area are not far away, or further up towards Yen Trung lake, Yen Tu, about 4km away.

Khe Song - Silver Waterfall is only 100km from Hanoi and about 40km from the center of Ha Long City. From National Highway 18, turn off towards Khe Su 2 village, Thuong Yen Cong commune. The roads are easily accessible by motorbike or car. When exploring the waterfall, remember to prepare comfortable clothing and rent flip-flops for safe and convenient travel.
