Early in the morning, in the chilly weather, the small workshop under the pine canopy becomes cozy with the laughter of visitors. The smell of clay, the smell of ceramic glaze and a thin ray of sunlight streaming through the window create a space that is both warm and quiet.
Ms. Tran Thi Kim Dung, owner of a pottery workshop on Trang Trinh Street, Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat, is smiling gently, holding a piece of clay in her hand, introducing everyone to the steps of making pottery. On the wooden table, soft blocks of clay are placed neatly, the smell of moisture and coolness spread in the air. Each person has a wheel, a block of clay for themselves and sets a goal to make a ceramic "work" during the class with full enthusiasm.

As the turntable turns, those hands begin to meticulously knead and shape cups, bowls, vases and cute souvenirs gradually appear amid laughter and drops of sweat.

Ms. Dung - the workshop owner was busy instructing and correcting each hand movement to help the students complete their work according to their original wishes and ideas. After more than 3 hours of hard work, kneading and painting, everyone had their own pottery piece, not perfect but full of memories. In the smell of hot tea and drying clay, the class ended with smiles and a peaceful feeling as if they had just touched the slow pace of life here.

Delighted with the cup she had just made, Nguyen Ngoc Quynh Tram, a tourist from Dong Nai, happily said that she came here to travel with her mother. The mother and daughter had signed up for this pottery class. Tram felt very happy because she could make her own pottery product and have interesting experiences with her mother. This was a beautiful memory and also a meaningful time to relax after stressful hours at school. Through that, Tram gained more life skills, practiced patience and meticulousness for herself.

Passionate about handicrafts, Ms. Dung left Ho Chi Minh City to start a business here with a pottery and coffee workshop model. Each class, she only accepts 6-8 people to ensure time to guide and correct each step for each student.
After being shaped and colored, the products will be left to dry naturally, pre-fired, glazed and fired to create a complete ceramic item. After firing, the products will be sent home to students for use, as souvenirs or as small gifts for relatives and friends.

Ms. Dung said, I opened the pottery workshop with the thought that this is not only a place to teach skills or make products, but also a place where each person can slow down, explore, create, and relax. Each workshop not only helps participants increase their aesthetic sense and concentration, but also helps each person, especially children, stay away from phones and electronic devices.

Not only experiencing pottery making, Lam Dong also attracts tourists with craft workshops such as: Making scented candles, soap, weaving rattan, painting, handmade chocolate, baking... Participating in craft workshops gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the local cultural life and create your own unique works.
These workshops not only attract international visitors but are also loved by many domestic tourists, especially families and groups of young people.

Along with flower viewing, cloud hunting, and coffee shop wandering, “craft experience tourism” contributes to attracting tourists and locals with new experiences, perseverance, discovery, creativity, and the feeling of creating something of their own.
