Sunpro Wind Power Plant Inaugurated

On January 9th, in Thoi Thuan commune, Pacifico Energy Vietnam – a member of the Pacifico Energy Group – solemnly held the inauguration ceremony for the Sunpro wind power plant.

Attending the event were: Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh – former Vice President of Vietnam ; Ms. Ho Thi Hoang Yen – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien – Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Major General Nguyen Minh Trieu – Deputy Commander of Military Region 9; along with former central and provincial leaders from various periods.

Representatives performed the ceremony of pressing the button to officially inaugurate the project.

The Sunpro wind power plant, with a capacity of 30MW, officially commenced commercial operation on December 19, 2025. Comprising 7 turbines with a total investment of approximately VND 1,600 billion, it is expected to produce 89.5GWh/year, sufficient to supply electricity to about 27,000 households. During implementation, the project received comprehensive investment, from turbine towers and step-up substations to an 18.5km 110kV transmission line and supporting facilities, and was completed on schedule and in accordance with legal regulations.

According to Pacifico Energy's leadership, Sunpro's success demonstrates the Group's long-term commitment to energy security and sustainable development in Vietnam, contributing to the stability of the national power grid.

During the implementation process, Pacifico Energy Vietnam closely coordinated with the government and community, contributing over 2 billion VND to social welfare activities in 5 communes within the project area, including: supporting policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged households, awarding scholarships, and building charitable houses.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Quynh Thien delivered a speech at the inauguration ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Quynh Thien affirmed that the Sunpro project is an important milestone in the strategy for developing renewable energy, linking economic growth with environmental protection and the transition to sustainable energy sources.

The project not only supplements the national electricity supply, creates jobs for local workers, and contributes to the budget, but also helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promotes the province's service and trade sectors. More importantly, the project contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, protecting the ecological environment, and aligns with the green growth and sustainable development goals that Vinh Long province is striving for.
