Regardless of age or profession, from students and drivers to small business owners, everyone is enthusiastically participating in learning and applying this language to their daily lives.
On June 18th, Khanh Hoa province organized the 2026 English Day with many rich and diverse activities for all people. The highlight of the event was a series of activities including: the final round of the "Ringing the Golden Bell" competition, the "English-Speaking Family" competition, the "Sing to Shine" music festival, and the "Local Ride - Global Vibe" cyclo parade…
Present at 2/4 Square (Nha Trang ward) to cheer on her daughter and other students participating in the English competition, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh (residing in Tay Nha Trang ward) excitedly shared that she was very happy to see the children confidently expressing themselves. After many years of studying at school and practicing in a real-world environment, Ha My (10 years old, Ms. Thanh's daughter) can now communicate well with her classmates in English.
As one of the students participating in the English class organized by the Cyclo Drivers' Union in collaboration with the "Khanh Hoa People Speak English" Project, Mr. Pham Van Chien (65 years old, residing in Nha Trang ward) can now confidently quote service prices and give basic introductions to famous landmarks in English to foreign tourists. According to Mr. Chien, building a widespread learning environment not only helps individuals develop themselves but also contributes to meeting the integration requirements of a locality rich in tourism and service potential.
The movement to learn and speak English in the community was launched by Khanh Hoa province as the "Khanh Hoa People Speak English" project four years ago. To date, this activity is no longer simply a foreign language learning movement, but has become a key strategy to realize the development vision and enhance the integration capacity of the locality.
From a pilot project, the "Khanh Hoa People Speak English" program has spread rapidly, becoming an effective community model for preparing high-quality human resources for the province. As of May 2026, the program has attracted over 600,000 direct beneficiaries through clubs, events, and large-scale competitions; and over 82,000 people have accessed specialized English learning content through online platforms and social media.
Recognizing tourism and services as one of the four pillars of its economy , Khanh Hoa province expects that popularizing English in the community will contribute to building an image of a dynamic, friendly destination ready for international integration. In particular, in 2026, the province will implement the project "Making English the second language in schools from 2026 to 2035, with a vision to 2045," aiming to shift from simply teaching foreign languages to practical application throughout the entire education system.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, called on the people to continue embracing the spirit of "English today, English everyday." The provincial leader emphasized that each citizen should not hesitate or procrastinate, but should make English a habit of consistent daily practice so that this language continues to spread widely into every home, school, and workplace.
