Those were tears of love she shed for her husband; despite being often apart, their love for each other remained undiminished.
Holding a bouquet of fresh flowers given by the commander of Regiment 692, the young couple smiled brightly, full of happiness. They have been married for over two years and have had their first child, but when recounting their love story to us, Linh still couldn't help but feel shy and embarrassed: "We met at the hospital, sister." That was in January 2023, when Tung was a student at the Political Officer Training School. During his leave, he went to Tam Anh General Hospital (Hanoi), where Linh worked as a nurse, for a general health check-up.

From their very first meeting, Thanh Tung was captivated by the charming and pretty nurse, Ngoc Linh. Every smile, her voice, and her caring gestures while caring for patients left him mesmerized. After that first encounter, Tung proactively messaged and called Linh. In the initial messages, he asked Linh for advice and guidance on health and nutrition. Gradually, the messages became more frequent, and Tung and Linh exchanged information about their work, hobbies, and lives. Through their interactions, they discovered they were both born in 1998, hailed from Hanoi , and found they were very compatible in personality and interests, leading to a closer relationship.
Linh confidently recounted to us the time she went all the way to Regiment 165, Division 312, Corps 1 (now Corps 12), where Tung was doing his training, to meet him. After that meeting, she learned more about the Army and the ideals Tung pursued. Therefore, when Tung proposed, Linh happily accepted. After Tung completed his training, with the support of both families, the young couple decided to get married.
Now, Thanh Tung and Ngoc Linh's family has a new member, baby Minh Anh. Looking back, Linh's journey of raising a child alone was not easy. During her nine months of pregnancy, Linh only went to one prenatal check-up with her husband. She confided: "Every time I walked to the clinic alone and saw other pregnant women with their husbands, I felt like crying. At those times, I felt so lonely, but to reassure him so he could focus on his work, I was willing to overcome everything."
Due to the nature of his work, Tung is often away from home, and Linh is also busy with her shifts at the hospital. However, with her diligence and resourcefulness, she always fulfills her role as the "keeper of the flame" in their family home. Although many difficulties lie ahead, the young couple always hold hands, share the same goals, and support and encourage each other to complete their tasks so they can return and build a happy family.
