The project, with the Dong Ha City People's Committee as the investor and AFD funding, will be implemented over four years from 2024 to 2027 with a total investment of over 1,152 billion VND. Of this, the project to renovate low-income areas – specifically the transportation component – is the first to be implemented, involving the renovation of 67 roads with a total length of 16,494m, a cross-section of 5-10m, and an asphalt concrete surface, with a total contract value of over 111.4 billion VND.

The project is being constructed by a joint venture between Quang Tri General Construction Joint Stock Company and Quang Tri Traffic Management and Construction Joint Stock Company. It is expected to be completed in October 2027.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the Dong Ha City People's Committee Ho Sy Trung emphasized: The commencement of the project to renovate low-income areas - the transportation component of the Project - is of practical significance, contributing to the realization of the goal of building Dong Ha City into a green city, effectively adapting to climate change, and in line with the city's general plan until 2045. Upon completion, the project will improve living conditions, connect infrastructure, and ensure traffic safety for residents in the city.

The City People's Committee will continue to direct the AFD Project Management Board and relevant units to strictly implement regulations on investment and construction, ensuring quality, progress, and labor safety. At the same time, they will regularly monitor and inspect the construction process, promptly resolving any obstacles to minimize the impact on the lives and environment of the residential area.

Dong Ha City hopes to continue receiving the companionship, supervision, and support of the people, agencies, and units so that the project can be completed on schedule, contributing to building a green, clean, beautiful, and sustainable city.
