Long Phung Sum Vay was directed by Dang Minh Quoc, with the participation of actors: Le Be La, Le Chi Na, Tran Bich Hang, Dao Anh Tuan, Le Minh Thuan... Although exploiting a familiar topic - about the profession of lion and dragon dancing, the crew said that the new thing of the film is to bring the story of a traditional profession set in the relationship between the army and the people.
The producer said, Long Phung Sum Vay is expected to be filmed in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong.
During the film crew's introduction (October 25), director Dang Minh Quoc said that the lion dance profession will appear in many stories, forms... and will occupy more than 50% of the duration of the 5 episodes. Accordingly, the lion dance profession is considered the red thread connecting martial arts spirit, connecting human love, especially during the seasons of reunion.
Because of the name, the film crew held a casting to find actors who knew martial arts and had a knack for comedy. The casting session on the film's launch day attracted many young people and freelance actors to attend and perform martial arts.
According to Mr. Dang Ngoc Minh - Director of Minh Film (the production unit of Long Phung Sum Vay ), who has participated in producing Tet TV series for many years, he believes that each year the pressure on the subject increases, as does the selection of actors - there must be both famous faces and young people - new and especially acting in Tet films also requires people with humorous qualities.
He said that Long Phung Sum Vay invested 150 million VND per episode (50 million VND higher than the Tet film his unit produced last year). "Anyone who makes a film hopes to make a profit, or at least recover their capital after broadcasting. But I'm not afraid to say it frankly, if I can't sell it to stations or channels, I'll give it away, as long as the film reaches as many viewers as possible, in as many provinces and cities as possible," Mr. Minh shared. However, he said that currently, Long Phung Sum Vay has been offered by some TV stations in the Central provinces to buy the broadcasting rights for the 2024 Tet holiday.
