By April 15th, the land will be handed over to the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) to prepare for the commencement of the Ca Mau Airport expansion and upgrade project.


On the afternoon of March 17th, a delegation from Ca Mau province conducted a field inspection of the land clearance work for the expansion and upgrading project of Ca Mau Airport.

After hearing reports from the People's Committee of Ca Mau city and related units on land clearance work, the Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Ho Hai, emphasized that this is a key project and any delay would greatly affect the province's development.

The Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee requested that relevant units involved in land clearance work have detailed plans, work with the highest level of dedication, and especially ensure the rights of the people, creating conditions for them to have a better life.

The deadline is April 15th, when the land must be handed over so that the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) can prepare for the commencement of the Ca Mau Airport expansion and upgrade project.

During the period 2021-2030, the existing passenger terminal at Ca Mau Airport will be expanded to accommodate approximately 1 million passengers per year.

"The province is preparing the land for construction, not making the investor wait for the land," Mr. Hai noted, adding that regarding sand for leveling, Ca Mau province will submit a request to central ministries and agencies to prioritize its allocation for the project.

The Ca Mau Airport expansion and upgrade project is invested by the Vietnam Airports Corporation, with an investment capital of approximately 2,400 billion VND.

The new runway construction project will have dimensions of 2,400m × 45m, ensuring the operation of A320, A321, and similar aircraft.

The project involves compensation and land clearance covering an area of ​​over 105 hectares in Ward 6 and Tan Thanh Ward (Ca Mau City), affecting 3 organizations and 601 households.

According to the 2021-2030 plan, the aircraft parking apron south of the runway will accommodate approximately four parking positions. Looking ahead to 2050, the plan envisions an aircraft parking apron north of the runway, integrated with the new civil aviation area, to accommodate approximately 10 parking positions and with reserves for future expansion.

Passenger terminal, during the period 2021-2030, will expand the existing passenger terminal to accommodate a capacity of approximately 1 million passengers per year.

The vision for 2050 includes planning a new passenger terminal in the area north of the runway, with a capacity of approximately 3 million passengers per year; reserving land for future development when needed.

During the period 2021-2030, the plan is to build a cargo warehouse west of the passenger terminal, near the existing aircraft parking area, with a capacity of approximately 1,000 tons of cargo per year.

The vision for 2050 is to plan a cargo warehouse east of the new passenger terminal, with a capacity of approximately 3,000 tons of cargo per year.

According to the land use plan for the period 2021-2030, the total land requirement is approximately 184.22 hectares. Looking ahead to 2050, the total land requirement is projected to be around 244.43 hectares.
