New space, new look for Ha Tinh City.

Ha Tinh City is undergoing significant changes in its infrastructure and urban development, creating a new vitality and appearance, and successfully fulfilling its role as the leading socio-economic hub of the province.

Accelerate the progress of strategic and key infrastructure projects.

In 2023, Ha Tinh City identified the overarching theme as accelerating the implementation of key strategic infrastructure; strengthening digital transformation towards building a smart city; focusing investment on upgrading landscapes, cultural sites, and entertainment areas to develop tourism and create momentum for the development of trade and services. This is also the central task in the city's 5-year plan (2020-2025) to strive to become one of the central urban areas in the North Central region; and a leading unit in working with the province to achieve the goal of becoming a relatively prosperous province in the country according to the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress.

The eastern ring road of Ha Tinh City is taking shape, opening up new urban development opportunities for the city.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Hieu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh City, stated: “Ha Tinh City is simultaneously implementing key projects on infrastructure development, upgrading the drainage system, and beautifying urban spaces and landscapes. The city has effectively utilized policies and resources to implement projects on schedule, connecting strategic national and provincial transportation infrastructure investment projects with urban transportation infrastructure projects, creating synchronization, uniformity, and ensuring the overall planning. This breakthrough aims to create a foundation for the city to expand its urban space, open up new development directions, and shift in urban governance; boost investment attraction and better mobilize the contributions of the people to build a city that is increasingly civilized, modern, smart, and friendly.”

Construction sites in Ha Tinh City are maintaining their pace of work after being affected by heavy rains.

As of the end of September 2023, the city had implemented 30 out of 81 planned projects, of which 8 projects had been completed and put into use. Many projects and works are truly changing the face, opening up strategies and bringing new vitality to the city, such as: the Eastern Ring Road; the project to renovate the road surface and upgrade the technical infrastructure of Quang Trung road section from Nguyen Huy Lung road to Ho Do bridge and add one unit to Ho Do bridge; the sub-project of the road connecting the DT.550 intersection with Ngo Quyen road, part of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi component of the North-South Expressway construction project in the East, phase 2021-2025.

In addition, there are infrastructure improvement projects such as: upgrading the technical infrastructure of roads in the central area, building traffic bays in front of school gates... From now until the end of the year, the locality will continue to urgently direct the progress of projects; focusing on land clearance for project construction. It is expected that in October 2023, the city will have 6 more new projects starting construction.

The construction unit is installing drainage pipes on Xuan Dieu Street at the intersection with Nguyen Du Street.

Focus on achieving socio-economic targets for 2023.

According to assessments, despite the difficulties in economic recovery, thanks to timely solutions, the city still ensured revenue from land use fees and taxes as planned. Total state budget revenue in the area reached 688 billion VND, equivalent to 84% of the plan. Production and business activities, urban development, and rural development showed many positive signs. The city organized many new urban economic models, cultural events, and festivals that attracted the attention of the people and contributed to the growth of the trade and service sector, such as: the Nguyen Du food street; the agricultural product market in Thach Ha commune; the boat racing festival; the Van Mieu spring festival; the Mid-Autumn lantern procession...

The "Thanh Sen Mid-Autumn Lantern Procession" festival not only left a positive impression on the people but also connected and created new value for the urban economic model - a specialized food street associated with a pedestrian street.

Mr. Nguyen Song Han, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Ha commune, said: “Since the beginning of the year, we have focused on developing agricultural and urban agricultural economic models, gradually realizing the goal of becoming a service area associated with ecotourism in the locality. Along with that, we have mobilized resources to upgrade the infrastructure system and consolidate the criteria for a model new rural commune. It is expected that by October, the commune will have completed 100% of the targets for the 2023 programs.”

Thach Hung commune is striving to complete the targets of the targeted program by October 2023.

Meanwhile, in the communes of Thach Hung, Thach Trung, Dong Mon, etc., the target for asphalt paving of roads has been exceeded. Inner-city wards are accelerating urban beautification; renovating sidewalks, curbs, green spaces, and drainage systems; and bundling and undergrounding telecommunication cables on roads to connect with key strategic transportation infrastructure projects currently underway.

In the last three months of the year, along with key strategic tasks and projects, Ha Tinh City will focus intensely on the planning of wards, communes, and areas; adjusting existing plans; and definitively resolving outstanding issues related to the transformation of state management models in various fields, especially urban economic models and land clearance... creating a solid foundation for the city to enter a new phase of development.
