HIGHLIGHTS

From its early days, Binh Nhi Cooperative has carried within itself a simple yet noble mission: ensuring clean water for rural communities. Over 24 years, this mission has not only been maintained but also expanded, becoming the foundation for remarkable progress in agriculture and digital transformation. In 2024, the cooperative's revenue reached 2.64 billion VND, along with after-tax profit exceeding 210 million VND. This is proof of the cooperative's stability and sustainable development.

The clean water supply service is the "heart" of Binh Nhi Cooperative, connecting all households in the commune with a source of clean, quality-certified water. With a system of 7 deep wells and 4 filtration systems, the cooperative supplied 368,317 m³ of clean water in 2024, an increase of 19,187 m³ compared to the previous year, meeting the growing needs of the people. Reasonable water prices along with regular quality checks by the Health Department ensure that every drop of water reaching the people is safe and reliable.

Not stopping there, the cooperative invested over 328 million VND to upgrade the pump from 3.5HP to 7.5HP, level the ground, install drainage pipes, and renovate 13 pipelines, providing a more stable water supply for the community. With a spirit of continuous improvement, the cooperative plans to upgrade the main pipeline to Ø90, implement an automatic flushing system, and adjust water supply times to optimize costs.

Alongside the provision of clean water is the aspiration for advancement in agriculture. In 2024, the cooperative implemented a series of advanced production models, from high-quality rice and organic rice to watermelons and key crops such as coconuts, dragon fruit, and corn. The high-quality rice model, in accordance with Resolution 04/2021/NQ-HĐND, with 40% support for agricultural supplies, was implemented for 32 households on 20 hectares in Binh Dong Trung hamlet. It applied comprehensive mechanization from land preparation to harvesting, significantly reducing costs and increasing profits for farmers. The organic rice model on 20 hectares with 41 participating households not only enhances product value but also contributes to environmental protection, meeting the trend of green consumption.

In particular, the rice consumption linkage program under Resolution 07/2019/NQ-HĐND, in cooperation with HK Trading Co., Ltd., has supplied rice seeds and materials to 64 households on 30.53 hectares from 2022 to 2024, with a total budget of over 2 billion VND. In 2024, this model expanded to watermelon cultivation with 16.25 hectares and 21 participating households, bringing clear economic benefits and opening up new prospects for agricultural production.

A highlight in the agricultural journey of Binh Nhi Cooperative is the application of VietGAP standards and the establishment of planting area codes. With 5 hectares of VietGAP-certified rice in Binh Hoa Dong hamlet and 16.25 hectares of VietGAP-certified watermelons in Binh Dong Trung hamlet, the cooperative has met the stringent requirements of the market. Planting area codes have been granted to four crops (coconut, dragon fruit, rice, and corn), creating a transparent production system with clear traceability, opening up opportunities to conquer international markets, especially for coconuts.

Digital transformation is a new chapter in the story of Binh Nhi Cooperative. Selected as a model for digital transformation in Tien Giang province, the cooperative has equipped its members with the skills to use software for recording farming logs on their phones, helping them accurately monitor and manage the production process, from fertilizer and pesticide use to crop yields. This system not only minimizes errors but also supports managers in making timely adjustments, ensuring products meet high quality standards and have low emissions. The development of planting area codes, barcodes, and product traceability has created a competitive advantage, bringing Binh Nhi's products closer to the international market. Digital transformation is not just a tool but also a driving force for the cooperative to realize its dream of a green, clean, and sustainable agriculture.

TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

In the near future, Binh Nhi Cooperative will upgrade its clean water system with Ø90 pipes, implement an automatic flushing system, and relocate water meters to the main pipeline to ensure a more stable and efficient water supply. In agriculture, the cooperative will continue to maintain the VietGAP model, large-scale farming, and product consumption linkages.

Simultaneously, participation in the "Sustainable Development of One Million Hectares of High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice" project in the Mekong Delta contributes to the goal of green growth. The establishment of a mechanization team and the deployment of drones in production, with a budget of 535 million VND, promises to improve productivity and protect the environment. The bottled water production project, with a budget of 400 million VND, will open up new business opportunities, while the "Enterprise - Cooperative - Farmer" linkage model will be strengthened through workshops, training, and technology transfer.

The Binh Nhi Cooperative is not only an economic organization but also a beacon of solidarity, innovation, and the aspiration for progress within the community. Programs promoting the 2023 Cooperative Law, Resolution 20-NQ/TW, and Resolution 07/NQ-TU have raised public awareness of the role of the collective economy and instilled confidence in the power of the community.

The support from the Cooperative Union, the Tien Giang Provincial Department of Quality and Rural Development, and local authorities at all levels has been a tremendous driving force, helping the cooperative overcome all challenges and move forward. From clean water to golden rice grains, from traditional fields to modern agriculture, Binh Nhi Cooperative is continuing to write the story of a prosperous rural area, where each member is a piece in the puzzle of sustainable development.
