HIGHLIGHTS

Since its inception, Binh Nhi Cooperative has carried the simple but noble mission of ensuring clean water for rural communities. Over the past 24 years, this mission has not only been maintained but also expanded, becoming the foundation for remarkable strides in agriculture and digital transformation. In 2024, the Cooperative's revenue reached VND 2.64 billion with a profit after tax of more than VND 210 million. This is a testament to the stability and sustainable development of the Cooperative.

Clean water supply service is the “heart” of Binh Nhi Cooperative, connecting every household in the commune with clean water that meets quality standards. With a system of 7 deep wells and 4 filters, the Cooperative provided 368,317 m³ of clean water in 2024, an increase of 19,187 m³ compared to the previous year, meeting the increasing daily needs of the people. Reasonable water prices along with regular quality checks by the health sector have ensured that every drop of water reaching the people is safe and reliable.

Not stopping there, the Cooperative has invested more than 328 million VND to upgrade the pump from 3.5HP to 7.5HP, level the ground, install drainage pipes and renovate 13 pipelines, bringing a more stable water source to the community. With the spirit of continuous improvement, the Cooperative has planned to upgrade the main pipeline Ø90, deploy an automatic flushing system and adjust water supply hours to optimize costs.

Along with clean water is the aspiration to rise in agriculture. In 2024, the Cooperative has deployed a series of advanced production models, from high-quality rice, organic rice, to watermelon and key crops such as coconut, dragon fruit, and corn. The high-quality rice model according to Resolution 04/2021/NQ-HDND, with 40% support for agricultural materials, was deployed for 32 households on 20 hectares in Binh Dong Trung hamlet, applying synchronous mechanization from land preparation to harvesting, helping to significantly reduce costs and increase profits for farmers. The organic rice model on 20 hectares with 41 participating households not only increases product value but also contributes to environmental protection, meeting the green consumption trend.

In particular, the rice consumption linkage program under Resolution 07/2019/NQ-HDND, in cooperation with HK Trading Company Limited, has provided rice seeds and materials to 64 households on 30.53 hectares from 2022 to 2024, with a total cost of more than 2 billion VND. In 2024, this model will expand to watermelon with 16.25 hectares and 21 participating households, bringing clear economic efficiency and opening up new prospects for agricultural production.

The highlight of Binh Nhi Cooperative's agricultural journey is the application of VietGAP standards and the establishment of growing area codes. With 5 hectares of VietGAP rice in Binh Hoa Dong hamlet and 16.25 hectares of watermelon in Binh Dong Trung hamlet certified with VietGAP, the Cooperative has met the strict requirements of the market. Growing area codes are granted to 4 types of trees (coconut, dragon fruit, rice, corn) to create a transparent production system with clear traceability, opening up opportunities to conquer the international market, especially for coconut trees.

Digital transformation is a new chapter in the story of Binh Nhi Cooperative. Selected as a model for digital transformation in Tien Giang province, the Cooperative has equipped its members with the skills to use farming diary software on their phones, helping to accurately monitor and manage the production process, from the amount of fertilizer, pesticides to crop yield. This system not only minimizes errors but also supports managers in making timely adjustments, ensuring that products meet high quality standards and low emissions. The development of growing area codes, barcodes, and product traceability has created a competitive advantage, bringing Binh Nhi's products closer to the international market. Digital transformation is not only a tool but also a driving force for the Cooperative to realize the dream of a green, clean, and sustainable agriculture.

TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

In the coming time, Binh Nhi Cooperative will upgrade the clean water system with Ø90 pipes, deploy an automatic flushing system, and move the water meter to the main pipeline to ensure a more stable and efficient water source. In agriculture, the Cooperative will continue to maintain the VietGAP model, large fields, and link product consumption.

At the same time, participating in the Project “Sustainable development of one million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice” in the Mekong Delta, contributing to the goal of green growth. The establishment of a mechanization team and the deployment of drones in production, with a budget of 535 million VND, promises to improve productivity and protect the environment. The Bottled Water Production Project, with a budget of 400 million VND, will open up new business opportunities, while the “Enterprise - Cooperative - Farmer” linkage model will be promoted through seminars, training, and technology transfer.

Binh Nhi Cooperative is not only an economic organization but also a flame that lights up the spirit of solidarity, innovation, and aspiration of the community. Propaganda programs on the 2023 Cooperative Law, Resolution 20-NQ/TW and Resolution 07/NQ-TU have raised people's awareness of the role of the collective economy, arousing confidence in the strength of the community.

The attention of the Cooperative Union, the Department of Quality and Rural Development of Tien Giang province and local authorities at all levels is a great source of motivation, helping the Cooperative overcome all challenges to move forward. From drops of clean water to golden rice grains, from traditional fields to modern agriculture, Binh Nhi Cooperative is continuing to write the story of a prosperous countryside, where each member is a piece in the picture of sustainable development.
