During this period, Phu Quy Island welcomed thousands of visitors for sightseeing and relaxation, demonstrating that the island possesses all the necessary elements for developing the tourism industry. Previously, visitors to Phu Quy mostly explored famous destinations during the day, leaving them unsure where to go for entertainment at night. Therefore, the launch of the Night Food Zone, which has been enthusiastically received by the local people, aims to create a healthy cultural, recreational, and entertainment space for both locals and tourists.
From 6 PM daily, nearly 20 stalls offering a wide variety of local dishes, seafood, goods, souvenirs, etc., are set up in Lach Doi Dua Park, attracting a large number of locals and tourists. This first-ever night food court in Phu Quy has contributed to diversifying products, promoting local cuisine and seafood, and increasing the attractiveness of this small island tourist destination.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “This is my second time returning to Phu Quy Island. The small island has become more vibrant and bustling with the proliferation of restaurants and accommodations. In particular, the night food court has created a lively atmosphere in the evenings, offering tourists more fun places to eat, drink, and enjoy music.”

Mr. Do Minh Chuc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Quy Special Economic Zone, said that the locality is piloting a night food court to create more products to serve tourism. The model aims to build a civilized cultural and culinary space, creating a place for entertainment and experiences for tourists after exploring the island. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for businesses and small traders to promote OCOP products, fresh seafood, and characteristic dishes of Phu Quy, contributing to boosting the local economy.

Local leaders believe that although Phu Quy possesses pristine landscapes, distinctive cuisine, and many unique cultural features, nighttime service activities are still limited, failing to fully meet the experiential needs of tourists or effectively exploit the local tourism potential. Therefore, the pilot project of the Night Food Zone is expected to create new products, contribute to diversifying tourism experiences, and increase income for the island's residents.
With the increasing number of tourists, developing the night-time economy in Phu Quy is considered essential to create more experiences and attract repeat visitors. According to the plan, the night-time food court will be piloted for three months before the local authorities evaluate, adjust, and consider developing a night market model that suits the local context. If properly invested in and planned, the night-time economy is expected to contribute to increased service and tourism revenue, create jobs, and attract more investment to the locality.
