Infrastructure in Khu Nhang is gradually being completed.
In recent years, thanks to the attention and support of the Party, the State, and all levels of government, the people of Nhang hamlet (formerly) have demonstrated a spirit of unity and dynamism in economic development. The hamlet is 100% Muong ethnic minority. The lives of the people have improved significantly; no household now has to worry about making ends meet during the lean season.
However, in 2018, due to the impact of heavy rains and floods, a 100-meter-long, 70-centimeter-wide crack appeared across Nhang Hill, where the local people live. Particularly after Typhoon No. 3 ( Yagi ), three more serious landslides occurred on Nhang Hill, affecting households living at the foot of the hill. Consequently, 63 households in the Nhang area of Kim Thuong commune are located in a high-risk landslide zone and must be urgently relocated.
Leaders of Tan Son district inspect and direct the acceleration of the completion of the new communal house area.
Given the complex and unpredictable nature of natural disasters threatening the lives and property of the people, on October 2, 2024, the Standing Committee of the Tan Son District Party Committee held a meeting to hear the District People's Committee report on the plan for the urgent relocation of households under the project to resettle residents in the disaster-prone area of Nhang hamlet.
With the motto "Only discuss action, no turning back," and a determination to complete the project in the first quarter of 2025, the district leadership requested that all levels and sectors, from the district to the grassroots, continue to effectively carry out propaganda work to create consensus, support, and determination among the people, avoiding waiting and reliance on others. They also called for the mobilization of all levels, sectors, and forces with spirit, effort, material resources, and various other resources to implement the relocation project. The District Fatherland Front Committee was tasked with calculating all resources, both within and outside the district, to support the households; developing support plans for each target group, focusing on prioritizing support for poor, near-poor, and households with particularly difficult circumstances.
In addition, to address the issue of stable housing for households at risk of landslides, the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to build a resettlement area on a nearly 5-hectare site. The new housing is being built about 1km from the old location in Khu Mon (Nhang hamlet, Kim Thuong commune). The project, which commenced at the end of 2022, has a total investment of over 34.5 billion VND, from the central government's contingency budget and the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030...
The houses are gradually being completed.
As of March 10, 2025, the Tan Son District Relief Campaign Committee had requested approval for the allocation of funds to support 63 households urgently relocated and stabilized in the disaster-stricken area of Khu Nhang, Kim Thuong commune. Accordingly, the support level is 200 million VND per house for 21 poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households (including targeted support funds), and 100 million VND per house for the remaining 42 households...
We visited the new Nhàng resettlement area in mid-March with a working group led by the Chairman of the District People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Toan, to inspect the progress of the project. We observed a very bustling and urgent atmosphere, like a large construction site. After visiting and encouraging the residents, the Chairman of the District People's Committee gave direct instructions to resolve difficulties, obstacles, and concerns of the people, and to work with relevant units to expedite the completion of paperwork and the issuance of land use right certificates to the residents so that they can access bank loans, develop their economy, and stabilize their lives.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Toan, Chairman of the Tan Son District People's Committee, said: To provide people with safe new homes, the district has focused on directing and accelerating the implementation of the project to resettle and stabilize residents in the disaster-stricken Nhang hamlet. Upon completion, the project will provide housing for 63 households with over 200 people. After more than two years of implementation, the infrastructure of the resettlement area is now over 95% complete. This is a meaningful undertaking, contributing to supporting poor and disadvantaged households with new homes to stabilize their lives, work and produce with peace of mind, and soon rise out of poverty.
Standing beside her newly completed house, Ms. Dinh Thi Tam, one of the relocated households, happily shared: “Previously, my family lived in an area at risk of landslides, and we were very worried every time it rained or flooded. Thanks to the Party, the State, and the local authorities' support, my family has moved to a new house and no longer has to live in constant fear. Now I can confidently develop my economy and contribute to the development of the locality.”
Ms. Dinh Thi Tam, one of the households that had to be relocated, is delighted next to her newly built house.
Mr. Phung Van Liu, a resident who received a loan to build a house in the new residential area, said while personally constructing the gate pillars: "My family is very fortunate to have been given the opportunity by the district and local authorities to borrow capital to build a house. I am very happy, excited, and feel secure living in this new house."

Leaving the landslide-prone area, more than 64 households (including one who lost their entire house due to a landslide) in the Nhàng area have moved to a new resettlement area built by the province. The residents are rushing to complete their new, spacious houses, which combine traditional and modern designs.
The road leading to the new temple complex has been completed with concrete, stretching over 2km.
Seen from afar, the newly completed concrete road leading to the Nhàng area, over 2km long, resembles a small silk ribbon, winding around the hillside. The stilt houses, built close together in a modern style yet still in keeping with the traditions of the local people, along with the lush green trees on the hillside, create a vibrant splash of color, symbolizing a new life...
To date, all aspects of the new Nhang residential area project have been completed. With the determined efforts of the district and local authorities, the goal is to complete the houses for 63 households by April 10th and hold an inauguration ceremony at the end of April.
