"Our neighborhood's 'Song of the Changing Seasons' is not just about the changing of the seasons, but more importantly, it's about welcoming the transition between the era of renewal and the era of national progress. Our 'Song of the Changing Seasons' is not just about singing, but also about meaningful actions, gratitude, and human kindness—the most beautiful wordless songs!"

The opening remarks by Colonel Le Van Thanh, a veteran and head of residential group No. 18, touched the hearts of everyone from the very beginning, both the singers and the residents of the neighborhood.

The performance of "Guests Visiting the House" by the Folk Song Club of residential area 18.

Right from the opening performance, the singers of the Folk Song Club of Residential Area 18 extended a warm and welcoming greeting to the audience with the Quan Ho folk song "Guests Visiting the House." The performance was elaborately staged, with the singers dressed in elegant Quan Ho costumes, their eyes sparkling with emotion, and their resonant, captivating voices stirring the hearts of the audience.

The timeless songs performed by amateur singers from residential area 18 in both the main program and the "Singing Together" segment were a surprise, showcasing their vocal talent, singing technique, and performance style.

"The Party is my life," with a warm, expressive voice, Mr. Trinh Quoc Hai, from Xuan Dinh ward, performed the song with unwavering faith and love for the Party.

"First Spring," "Spring Love," "Spring Chorus," "Forest Music"... were performed quite professionally by amateur singers. Although they are no longer young, their voices and styles are very youthful, cheerful, and lively.

Two colonels and veterans participating in the program were also two people whose names I couldn't initially recall. It wasn't until the presenter introduced " Hanoi: Faith and Hope," performed by singers Cao Sáng and Ngọc Thêm, that I remembered Colonel Cao Đình Sáng, a veteran who 15 years ago was the Head of the General Department of Engineering's Cultural Center. The two met at a lively cultural reunion.

Perhaps the most exhausted person that day was Dr. Huynh Ngoc Binh, a doctor and guitarist. He spent the entire morning accompanying all the performances on the guitar. A ambidextrous man from Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh (now part of Gia Lai province), he has lived and worked in Hanoi for over 30 years. He expressed his feelings to me with cheerful "musical notes": "I've accompanied many singers, both professional and amateur, in numerous large and small-scale art programs. Today's cultural program, being at the 'organizational level,' is truly rare."

Yes, another truly precious "rare" event was that immediately afterwards, the singers from residential area 18, along with the residents of the neighborhood, "kicked off" a new program entirely of "wordless songs": a general cleanup of the alleyways; wrapping over 1,000 sticky rice cakes (bánh chưng) as gifts to visit and wish a Happy New Year to poor and terminally ill patients at K Hospital (Tan Trieu branch), Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, disabled and orphaned children at Phu Tho Special Education School (Viet Tri ward, Phu Tho province), and donating to policy beneficiary families and poor households in residential area 18...

As Colonel Le Van Thanh, a veteran and head of the neighborhood committee, aptly put it, these are the most beautiful and wonderful wordless songs of "The Changing Seasons."
