To commemorate the 76th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2023), building on the success of previous years' programs, and to remember and repay the immense contributions of martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and families who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution, under the direction of the Central Propaganda Department, on the evening of July 21, the Vietnam Communist Party's online newspaper, in coordination with relevant agencies, organized the 16th "Red Flower Color" art program in 2023.

The program took place at the Au Co Art Center (8 Huynh Thuc Khang Street, Hanoi ), and was broadcast live on VTV2 - Vietnam Television, and streamed online on the Communist Party of Vietnam's website (www.dangcongsan.vn).

The program was attended by representatives from the Central Propaganda Department, various ministries and agencies; leaders from provinces and cities; and a large audience from the capital city.

The "Red Flower" program is an annual event organized by the Vietnam Communist Party's online newspaper. Over 15 editions, the "Red Flower" program has achieved widespread social impact, becoming a brand associated with activities commemorating the annual War Invalids and Martyrs Day. The "Red Flower" program has attracted significant attention from all sectors of society. Many organizations, individuals, agencies, units, and businesses have shown great affection and voluntarily provided support, both spiritually and materially, coordinating with the Organizing Committee to participate in visits, encouragement, and the donation of tens of thousands of savings accounts, nearly 600 houses of compassion, and tens of thousands of scholarships and gifts to families of war invalids, martyrs, and those who have contributed to the revolution in many localities across the country.

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh instructed: "Wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, military families, and families of martyrs are those who have contributed to the Fatherland and the People, so it is our duty to be grateful to them, to love and help them." For the past 76 years, fulfilling his instructions and upholding the moral tradition of "Drinking water, remember the source," and "Eating fruit, remember the tree planter," the Party, the State, and the People of Vietnam have always cared for the material and spiritual lives of policy beneficiaries through many rich and practical forms.

In particular, over the past years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, departments, political and social organizations, Party committees at all levels, local governments, and the entire Party, people, and army have effectively implemented Directive No. 14, dated July 19, 2017, of the Party Central Committee "On continuing to strengthen the Party's leadership over the work related to people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution." "Caring for and implementing preferential policies for people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution is a regular and long-term duty and task of the entire political system and society."

With the attention of the entire political system, over the years, the Central Propaganda Department has assigned the Vietnam Communist Party's online newspaper to organize the "Red Flower" program on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27th every year. The program serves as a message with profound humanitarian significance, expressing the responsibility, affection, and gratitude of the people, comrades, and soldiers nationwide towards the heroic martyrs, war invalids, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and those who have contributed to the revolution.

This year marks the 16th anniversary of the program. Throughout this journey, "The Red Flower" has truly had a significant impact on society, becoming one of the important activities held annually nationwide to commemorate the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs. With its widespread influence and the special attention of all sectors of society, many generous individuals, agencies, and businesses continue to support "The Red Flower," voluntarily donating and participating with the Organizing Committee in activities of gratitude; presenting savings accounts, houses of compassion, scholarships, and gifts of gratitude to families of war invalids, martyrs, and those who have contributed to the revolution in many localities across the country.

Following the success of previous years' programs, the 16th "Red Flower Color" special art program in 2023 consists of three segments: The Homeland in Resistance – The Epic of the Soldier – A Melody of Pride.

In this unique artistic setting, the audience was able to relive the vibrant and resilient revolutionary days of our people across the country through timeless works of art.

The opening performance of the art program was "Homeland," with lyrics by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen The Ky, music by Le Quang, performed by People's Artist Quoc Hung, the Choir of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, and the Selena Dance Troupe. The meaningful lyrics, with their heroic and poignant melody, revived the glorious years of the nation's struggle, expressing gratitude to the outstanding sons and daughters who sacrificed their lives and blood for national independence, unification, and the building of the country.

Following that, the audience enjoyed timeless songs such as: "Homeland", "Green Leaves", "Farewell to the Teacher Going to the Army", "Distant Land", "The Trường Sơn Walking Stick", "Round Footprints on the Sand", "Where Are You Tonight", "You Go On Forever", along with songs full of aspirations, inspiring and evoking national pride such as: "Love Song", "Vietnam in My Heart", "My Homeland Has Never Been So Beautiful Before"... Performed by renowned artists such as: People's Artist Quốc Hưng, Tân Nhàn, Lê Anh Dũng, Đông Hùng, Sèn Hoàng Mỹ Lan, Oplus Group, Phương Nga, Đinh Thành Lê, ... along with Sao Tuổi Thơ Children's Group and Selena Dance Troupe.

The artistic performances in the program recreated the beauty and nobility of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, and genuine and profound love, camaraderie, and brotherhood. The program held special significance in commemorating and honoring heroes, wounded soldiers, volunteer youth, and those who contributed to the revolution and the nation; thereby contributing to the dissemination and education of the national tradition of "remembering the source when drinking water" and "repaying gratitude," arousing pride and responsibility in caring for those who have contributed to the revolution nationwide.

In addition to elaborately staged and unique artistic performances, the program also screened documentary footage of the Organizing Committee's activities to express gratitude to wounded soldiers, families of martyrs, families of policy beneficiaries, and those who have contributed to the revolution; and charitable activities over the past 15 years, especially the 16th "Red Flower" program in 2023.

Throughout its journey, the "Red Flower" Program has received the support and cooperation of philanthropists and local authorities. While the gifts may not be substantial in material value, they have contributed to sharing and encouraging policy beneficiary families to overcome difficulties and strive for a stable life. The bright eyes and radiant smiles of policy beneficiaries upon receiving the program's gifts are a testament to their support and a great motivation for the Organizing Committee to strive even harder and implement future programs more effectively.

The Organizing Committee hopes that the tradition of "Drinking water, remembering the source," the spirit of "Mutual support and compassion," and the awareness of "Cherishing the past, looking towards the future" will continue to be strongly promoted in the "Red Flower" programs.

The Organizing Committee extends its gratitude to the participating units that have contributed to the overall success of the 16th "Red Flower" program in 2023, including: Vietnam Foreign Trade Commercial Bank (Vietcombank), Vietnam Gas Corporation - JSC (PV GAS), Vietnam Industrial and Commercial Bank (VietinBank), Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), Hanoi Beer, Wine and Beverage Joint Stock Corporation (HABECO), Vietnam Technological and Commercial Bank (Techcombank), Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Social Policy Bank, 15th Army Corps, Vingroup, Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB), Saigon Newport Corporation, Ho Chi Minh Museum Construction Joint Stock Company, Tu Nhan HP Joint Stock Company, Van Thuan Import-Export Investment and Business Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Link Group Joint Stock Company (Vinalink Group), DIC HOLDINGS Construction Joint Stock Company, and Thoi Trang Joint Stock Company.
