Stimulating tourism in low season

The period from September to early December every year is considered the low season for tourism in Khanh Hoa, because this is the period when domestic tourists travel less and the weather is not favorable. Khanh Hoa Tourism Industry has had solutions to stimulate tourism, especially the domestic tourist market, aiming to eliminate the concept of "low season".

Apply attractive offers

In mid-October 2024, the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association launched a tourism stimulus package with the theme "Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, come to love". The Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association encourages service businesses in the province to actively deploy new products and activities to stimulate tourism, attracting more tourists to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa in the last months of 2024. Accordingly, a series of 3-5 star hotels in the province have simultaneously applied a preferential policy to stimulate international guests staying at hotels in Khanh Hoa for 6 nights, 1 night is free; domestic tourists staying 4 nights, 1 night is free. Businesses reduce from 10 to 20% of service prices at entertainment areas, venues, and food services in the province.

In addition, many businesses have also proactively launched their own stimulus policies such as: Vinpearl has a preferential policy for buying a 2-way cable car ticket for 100,000 VND and will immediately receive a shopping voucher worth 100,000 VND (applied from mid-September to the end of November 2024); Ana Mandara Cam Ranh Resort reduces 35% of accommodation and food service prices for workers in the tourism industry... "In the last months of the year, many employees in the tourism industry often go on vacation after the stressful summer travel season. To create conditions for workers in the tourism industry to experience high-class services, Ana Mandara Cam Ranh has launched a preferential package for workers in the industry", Mr. Le Dai Hai - General Manager of Ana Mandara Cam Ranh Resort shared.

Many tourism companies also launch promotional packages for MICE tourism (tourism combined with events, conferences, seminars), wedding tourism. For example, Champa Island Tourist Area has its own price policy for regular customers, offering additional services to organize conferences, team building; at the same time, the sales team builds a basic product package for domestic customers, giving away additional entertainment services for individual tourists such as: Visiting Cham Oasis craft village, learning to make pottery, embroidering with artisans... Travel companies also promote cooperation with partners to attract domestic tourists to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.

Strengthen promotion to attract tourists

Along with promoting the domestic market, Khanh Hoa tourism continues to attract international visitors, seeking to expand new visitor markets to stabilize the international visitor market. Due to the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the number of Russian visitors to Khanh Hoa is still limited. Therefore, businesses have stepped up attracting visitors from Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to compensate. Mr. Bui Quoc Dai - Deputy CEO of Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Company Limited said that to attract visitors from these countries, the company has coordinated with partners to promote communications and reduce tour prices. It is expected that by the end of December 2024, the company will increase flights from Kazakhstan from 4 flights/week to 6 flights/week. Similarly, flights from the Chinese and Korean markets are also focused on. Recently, representatives of Khanh Hoa Tourism Department attended the Vietnam Culture - Tourism Festival in China (an event aiming to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - China diplomatic relations and the "Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year" in 2025). Khanh Hoa Tourism Department displayed publications introducing and promoting the potential and strengths of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism destination to Chinese tourism organizations and enterprises. Also at these festivals, leaders of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism discussed with leaders of Chongqing City Tourism Department and Yunnan Province (China) about opportunities for cooperation and development, attracting and exchanging tourists between Khanh Hoa province and Chinese localities in recent years; proposed to Chinese travel enterprises some solutions to strengthen cooperation and increase the number of tourists in the coming time.

According to Mr. Pham Minh Nhut - Permanent Vice President of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, in order to attract tourists to Khanh Hoa in the last months of 2024, in addition to building new product packages and incentive programs, businesses need to promote communication and introduce the benefits of traveling at this time. "Businesses need to emphasize that during this period, airfares and hotel room prices in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa are "cooling down" compared to summer. The number of visitors is not too crowded, so tourists can comfortably experience culinary services, enjoy the cool feeling when going to the beach, and take beautiful pictures on deserted beaches...", Mr. Nhut shared.

Ms. NGUYEN THI LE THANH - Director of the Department of Tourism: In the first 10 months of 2024, Khanh Hoa tourism welcomed nearly 9.8 million overnight visitors, including 3.8 million international visitors. Tourism revenue was over VND 47,000 billion. The tourism industry has exceeded the targets set for 2024 (9 million visitors, revenue of over VND 40,000 billion) and is striving to welcome more than 10 million visitors this year. Currently, businesses are launching many promotional programs to attract tourists, while planning to prepare for Christmas and New Year events. Khanh Hoa tourism will make every effort to eliminate the concept of "low tourist season".
