Boosting tourism during the off-season.

The period from September to early December each year is considered the low season for tourism in Khanh Hoa, as this is when fewer domestic tourists travel and the weather is unfavorable. The Khanh Hoa tourism industry has implemented solutions to stimulate tourism, especially the domestic market, aiming to eliminate the concept of a "low season".

Apply attractive offers

In mid-October 2024, the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association launched a tourism stimulus package themed "Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, Come and Love." The Association encouraged service businesses in the province to actively implement new products and activities to stimulate tourism and attract more visitors to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa in the remaining months of 2024. Accordingly, a series of 3-5 star hotels in the province simultaneously applied a policy of offering incentives to international tourists: one free night for a 6-night stay; and one free night for domestic tourists: one free night for a 4-night stay. Businesses also reduced service prices by 10-20% at entertainment venues and food and beverage establishments throughout the province.

In addition, many businesses have proactively introduced their own stimulus policies, such as: Vinpearl offering a promotion where customers who buy a round-trip cable car ticket for 100,000 VND will receive a 100,000 VND shopping voucher (applicable from mid-September to the end of November 2024); Ana Mandara Cam Ranh Resort offering a 35% discount on accommodation and food services for employees in the tourism industry… “In the last months of the year, many employees in the tourism industry often go on vacation after the stressful summer travel season. To create opportunities for employees in the tourism industry to experience high-class services, Ana Mandara Cam Ranh has launched a special offer package for employees in the industry,” shared Mr. Le Dai Hai - General Manager of Ana Mandara Cam Ranh Resort.

Many tourism businesses are also launching promotional packages for MICE tourism (tourism combined with events, conferences, and seminars) and wedding tourism. For example, Champa Island Resort has a special pricing policy for regular customers, offering additional services to support conferences and team building; at the same time, the sales team has developed basic product packages for domestic tourists, offering additional entertainment services for individual tourists such as: visiting Cham Oasis craft village, learning pottery making, embroidery with artisans... Travel agencies are also strengthening partnerships to attract domestic tourists to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.

Enhance promotional efforts to attract tourists.

Along with boosting the domestic market, Khanh Hoa tourism continues to actively attract international tourists, seeking to expand into new markets to stabilize the international tourism market. Due to the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the number of Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa remains limited. Therefore, businesses have intensified efforts to attract tourists from Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to compensate. Mr. Bui Quoc Dai, Deputy Managing Director of Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Company Limited, said that to attract tourists from these countries, the company has collaborated with partners to boost promotional communication and offer discounted tours. It is expected that by the end of December 2024, the company will increase flights from Kazakhstan from 4 flights/week to 6 flights/week. Similarly, flights from China and South Korea are also being prioritized. Recently, representatives from Khanh Hoa's tourism industry attended the Vietnam Culture and Tourism Festival in China (an event commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China and the "Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year" in 2025). Khanh Hoa's tourism sector displayed publications introducing and promoting the potential and strengths of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa as a tourist destination to Chinese tourism organizations and businesses. At these festivals, leaders of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism also exchanged views with leaders of the tourism sectors of Chongqing City and Yunnan Province (China) on opportunities for cooperation and development, attracting and exchanging tourists between Khanh Hoa province and Chinese localities in recent years; and proposed several solutions to Chinese travel businesses to strengthen cooperation and increase tourist numbers in the future.

According to Mr. Pham Minh Nhut, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, to attract tourists to Khanh Hoa in the last months of 2024, in addition to developing new product packages and promotional programs, businesses need to strengthen communication and promotion to introduce the benefits of traveling at this time. “Businesses need to emphasize that during this period, airfare and hotel room prices in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa are lower than in the summer. The number of tourists is not too high, so visitors can comfortably experience culinary services, enjoy the cool sea breeze, and take beautiful photos on uncrowded beaches…,” Mr. Nhut shared.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of the Department of Tourism: In the first 10 months of 2024, Khanh Hoa's tourism sector welcomed nearly 9.8 million overnight visitors, including 3.8 million international tourists. Tourism revenue exceeded 47,000 billion VND. The tourism industry has surpassed the targets set for 2024 (9 million visitors, revenue exceeding 40,000 billion VND) and is striving to welcome more than 10 million visitors this year. Currently, businesses are launching many promotional programs to attract tourists, while also planning and preparing for Christmas and New Year events. Khanh Hoa's tourism sector will make every effort to eliminate the concept of a "low season for tourism".
