The bus fire was extinguished promptly.

On the morning of February 5th, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 1, under the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department for Fire Prevention, Firefighting and Rescue, announced that they had mobilized numerous vehicles, officers, and soldiers to promptly extinguish a bus fire on Dien Bien Phu Street, Dong Ha Ward, ensuring the safety of passengers.

According to initial information, at approximately 4:45 AM on the same day, a passenger bus with license plate 50E-200.xx, driven by Mr. NHT (born in 1978, residing in Ho Chi Minh City), was traveling in the North-South direction. Upon reaching Km 6+800 on Dien Bien Phu road, Dong Ha ward, Quang Tri province, the driver pulled the bus to the side of the road to allow passengers to rest when he suddenly noticed smoke and flames rising from the rear of the vehicle. Immediately, the driver and bus assistant quickly evacuated 9 passengers and worked to extinguish the fire, while simultaneously notifying the authorities.

Upon receiving the report, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area No. 1 dispatched two fire trucks and 18 officers and soldiers to the scene. Another fire truck and 12 officers and soldiers were later reinforced to quickly bring the fire under control. By approximately 7:48 AM the same day, the fire was completely extinguished.

The incident did not cause any casualties, however, the engine compartment of the passenger bus was severely damaged, resulting in estimated losses of approximately 100 million VND. Passengers were subsequently transferred to another vehicle to continue their journey.
