Walker wants to stay with AC Milan. |
The Times reports that Walker made a decision about his future at AC Milan after his loan spell from Manchester City ends this season. All indications point to Walker remaining in Italy for the 2025/26 season, with AC Milan ready to spend the money to buy the player outright, thus completing the transfer.
The defender himself is eager to continue his journey in Serie A. Walker will move to Serie A in the January 2025 transfer window. AC Milan have an option to buy Walker outright for €5 million (equivalent to £4.17 million), a clause the club expects to activate at the end of the season or even sooner.
Walker's move to Milan was seen as the optimal solution for both the player and his club, Manchester City, especially since his role in the eyes of manager Pep Guardiola had significantly diminished this season. Guardiola himself wanted to give opportunities to younger players, and he almost certainly had no intention of using Walker next season.
Conversely, at Milan, Walker became an indispensable part of coach Sergio Conceicao's squad. The England defender made nine appearances for Milan in all competitions, quickly adapting and demonstrating his class in the Italian football environment.
The clubs that earn the most money from selling players are Chelsea, who lead in player sales revenue over the past 10 seasons with €1.3 billion. Benfica and Monaco follow thanks to big deals like Félix and Mbappé.
