On the morning of August 23, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council held its 17th session of the 10th term to carry out personnel work within its authority.
Delegates cast their votes to elect the Chairpersons of the People's Committee and the People's Council of Lam Dong province.
Accordingly, the Provincial People's Council proceeded to elect the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, the Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and the Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council. At the same time, procedures for dismissing the Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and the Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council were carried out in accordance with the law.
At the session, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council nominated Mr. Tran Hong Thai, Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, for election as Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee. As a result, Mr. Tran Hong Thai was elected by the delegates of the Provincial People's Council to the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
Previously, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council elected Ms. Pham Thi Phuc, a member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, as the Chairperson of the Provincial People's Council.
Speaking at the session, Acting Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thai Hoc expressed confidence that, with the expectations of the Central Party Secretariat, the Central Organization Department, and the Provincial Party Committee, the newly appointed provincial leaders will fully utilize their abilities, intellect, skills, and capabilities to work together with the Provincial Party Committee to continue to resolutely and diligently overcome difficulties and lead Lam Dong to continued strong development.
Acting Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thai Hoc presented flowers to congratulate the Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Pham Thi Phuc and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hong Thai.
At this session, the provincial People's Council delegates also elected Mr. Da Cat Vinh, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, to the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of the Bao Loc City People's Committee, to the position of Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council. At the same time, they dismissed Mr. Nguyen Khac Binh from the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Ms. Duong Thi Nga from the position of Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council in accordance with the law.
Reportedly, after 8 months of vacancies in the positions of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee related to the Saigon-Van Ninh mega-case, Lam Dong province has now filled these key positions.
