Lam Dong: Residents exchange trash for gifts.

On September 27th, the People's Committee of Xuan Truong Ward, Da Lat (Lam Dong province) organized a ceremony to launch a campaign to collect pesticide packaging and crop waste in the area.

Many farmers took advantage of the time before going to work to bring their trash to the collection point in exchange for gifts.

At 29 locations in Xuan Truong ward, Da Lat, a total of approximately 6 tons of waste, consisting of pesticide packaging, were collected. Many farmers took advantage of the opportunity before going to work to bring their waste to the collection points to exchange it for gifts such as gloves, protective boots, raincoats, and hats – essential items for gardening.

For every 2kg of pesticide packaging waste brought in, people can exchange it for a pair of protective gloves. Larger quantities will be rewarded with more valuable items such as protective hats, masks, boots, raincoats, etc.

Residents brought their trash to 29 locations in Xuan Truong ward, Da Lat, in exchange for personal protective equipment.

After collection, the waste will be transported to a designated collection point and processed according to regulations for hazardous waste.

The activities aim to raise awareness of environmental protection, protect cleaner water sources, improve soil health, enhance quality of life, and build Xuan Truong ward in Da Lat into a "bright, green, clean, and beautiful" area.
