According to Dr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Vietnam - Russia Hyperbaric Oxygen Center ( Ministry of Defense ), the first thing to do when discovering that you have taken a fake medicine is to stop using it immediately. Whether you have just taken one dose or many times, continuing to take it can make your health condition worse.

Next, you need to quickly contact your doctor or go to the nearest medical facility for examination and consultation. Patients should provide complete information about the type of medication used, dosage, time of starting use and any unusual symptoms encountered. This information will help the doctor assess the level of impact and provide appropriate treatment.

While waiting to be examined, users should closely monitor symptoms such as headache, nausea, dizziness, digestive disorders, allergies, rashes, difficulty breathing... Recording specific developments will support the diagnosis and treatment process.

Dr. Hoang advises that if you still have the packaging or blister pack of used medicine, you should absolutely not throw it away. This is important evidence to help authorities trace the origin of the product, determine the ingredients and compare it with other drugs that are being warned about on the market.

In addition to individual handling, people are encouraged to report the incident to authorities such as the local Department of Health, the Drug Administration ( Ministry of Health ) or the police. Timely feedback can help detect early the production and distribution of counterfeit drugs and prevent the risk of spreading in the community.

Counterfeit drugs are not only a threat to individuals but also a risk to society as a whole. Consumer vigilance, initiative and cooperation are one of the first "barriers" to protect public health.
