| Mai Thi Hoa's family has not only enriched themselves but also created jobs for many local workers. |
Born into a large farming family , Hoa grew up in difficult economic conditions. Her parents spent their lives working in the tea plantations, raising 12 children to adulthood thanks to the tea crop. Of those, 10 continued the profession of growing and processing tea, considering tea as the family's main source of livelihood. All expenses and daily living costs depended on the income from tea.
Recognizing the great economic potential of tea cultivation , a traditional strength of the locality, Ms. Hoa decided to invest and expand production. Currently, her family owns about 2 hectares of tea, mainly hybrid tea varieties that yield high productivity and quality. On average, the production facility processes around 1 ton of fresh tea per day.
Over 10 years ago , Ms. Hoa's family produced less than 100 kg of fresh tea per day . Today, they have built a fairly complete processing facility. The total investment for the factory system is over 1 billion VND, including 6 tea roasting machines, nearly 40 tea rolling machines, vacuum sealing machines, and other equipment for processing and packaging the product.
The price of tea from Ms. Hoa's family currently ranges from 150,000 VND to 2,500,000 VND per kilogram, depending on the variety. The prices are publicly listed, allowing consumers to choose products that suit their needs.
Not only are the tea products from Ms. Hoa's family selling well locally, but they are also popular with customers in major cities such as Hanoi , Da Nang , and Ho Chi Minh City .

| Ms. Hoa is always concerned with improving the quality of tea products, contributing to ensuring the health of consumers. |
Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha (from Cau Giay, Hanoi) said: " Ms. Hoa's family's tea has a green color, a rich but not harsh flavor, a sweet aftertaste, and is safe to drink. I feel reassured because the tea producers are responsible for the health of consumers."
According to Ms. Hoa, the overarching principle throughout the production process is that the tea must be safe and not affect the health of consumers. Her family focuses on strict control from cultivation and harvesting to processing, minimizing the use of elements that could cause unsafe residues.
"We don't compromise our integrity for profit. Whether the tea is expensive or cheap, it must be clean and meet food safety and hygiene standards," Ms. Hoa affirmed.
In the near future, to further improve the quality and value of her products, Ms. Hoa plans to register for tea production according to OCOP standards. For her, branding is necessary, but the decisive factor remains the reputation and responsibility of the tea producer. Coming from a poor background and rising above poverty thanks to tea cultivation, Ms. Hoa believes that expanding production scale is not only to enrich her family but also to create additional livelihoods for local workers.
Currently, Ms. Hoa's family tea production facility provides regular employment for 8 workers, with an average income of 7-10 million VND per person per month. During peak seasons, the facility hires an additional 4 seasonal workers, contributing to job creation and increased income for local residents.
From Khuân hamlet, the economic development model of Ms. Mai Thị Hoa and some neighboring families shows that when farmers know how to effectively exploit traditional strengths and invest systematically, tea cultivation not only brings stable income but also helps tea growers become wealthy.
