By caring for over 7,000 egg-laying chickens each day, young man Hoang Anh Tu in Ha Linh commune (Ha Trung district) earns a profit of several million dong daily.
The egg-laying chicken farming model of Mr. Hoang Anh Tu's family has achieved high economic efficiency.
Mr. Hoang Anh Tu shared: After graduating from high school, due to my family's modest financial situation, instead of pursuing a university education, I chose to find a job to earn extra income to help my family and cover living expenses. Because of my limited professional skills and expertise, my work was unstable, and I frequently had to change jobs. In 2015, with the desire to return to my hometown to start a business, I researched and learned about developing a broiler chicken farming business, and was fortunate to receive advice from friends, family, and relatives.
To implement the model, along with developing a detailed plan, I also began mobilizing support funds to ensure timely execution. Accordingly, with savings, support from family, loans from relatives and friends, and especially loans from the Social Policy Bank, I boldly started my business by raising over 300 broiler chickens on approximately 3,000 square meters of my family's land.
In the initial stages of his business, Tú was fortunate to achieve significant profits from his first batch of chickens. Building on this initial success, he boldly expanded his operation to 3,000 chickens, and at one point even 5,000. However, during this initial investment phase, he experienced setbacks due to the ever-increasing cost of feed, resulting in heavy losses. In 2019, after researching the market and recognizing the high demand for chicken eggs – with supply sometimes exceeding demand – and the high profit potential, Tú decided to switch to this business model.
According to Mr. Tú, for the chickens to thrive, selecting the right breed and following proper care procedures are crucial. To ensure consistent egg production and high-quality eggs, the feed must contain all the necessary nutrients. Following the correct procedures, the flock will produce its first eggs after 5 months of raising.
Thanks to the effective implementation of economic models, Mr. Tu's farm now has 4 rows of chicken coops, covering a total area of over 3,000 square meters with more than 7,000 egg-laying chickens. On average, the farm owner sells about 5,000 eggs to the market each day. With selling prices ranging from 2,400 to 2,600 VND per egg, after deducting expenses, Mr. Tu earns a profit of about 3 to 5 million VND per day.
Not only is he a prime example of a successful entrepreneur, but as a model youth union member, Hoang Anh Tu also consistently shares his experience, exchanges knowledge, and provides support to several disadvantaged youth families to help them develop production, increase income, and stabilize their lives. Mr. Tu and his family always set a good example by strictly adhering to the policies, guidelines, and laws of the Party and State, as well as local regulations. In youth union work and youth movements, he actively participates in various campaigns and initiatives, especially taking the lead in self-reliance and career development, contributing to his homeland, and creating jobs for local youth.
