A mural in Barcelona's Joanic Square, painted to celebrate the 18th birthday of young talent Lamine Yamal, has been severely vandalized, amidst a controversial scandal surrounding the Barca star's lavish and offensive birthday party.

The original painting depicted Yamal as a Superman with an "L" instead of an "S" on his chest, symbolizing the expectations of the entire city of Barcelona for him. However, journalist Edu Polo recently shared images showing the artwork being crudely defaced with images of the "Seven Dwarfs"—believed to be a mockery of the alleged "exploitation of dwarves" at Yamal's birthday party.

Previously, there had been fake images circulating online, but this time, according to confirmation from reporters on the scene, the vandalism was real.

The incident stemmed from a birthday party held on July 13th – with approximately 200 guests, including friends, relatives, and teammates – at a private villa styled in a "Mafia" fashion. Images from the party showed the presence of people with achondroplasia (congenital dwarfism) and scantily clad models.

Some sources also reported that the models were selected based on criteria such as "blonde hair and prominent breasts" and were paid up to 20,000 euros to attend the party.

Spanish model Claudio Calvo – former Miss Teenager Europe 2022 – revealed that she declined the invitation after discovering inappropriate requirements from the organizers. She said: “I didn’t know exactly what they wanted, I was just told I needed to ‘have fun’ for 24 hours. They were looking for girls who looked like models or escorts.”

Responding to the scandal, Jesus Martin, the Spanish government 's Director General for Persons with Disabilities, called for an official investigation. "We are concerned that people with money and power think they are above the law. The law is equal for all – from the humble to the rich," he told Marca .

To date, Yamal and his representatives have not issued any statement. However, the incident is sparking a wave of strong criticism from the community, especially given that Yamal is a role model for many young fans. The image of La Masia's brightest young talent is being severely tarnished by actions considered irresponsible and inappropriate for a top star in Spanish football.
