A mural in Joanic Square, Barcelona - painted to honor the 18th birthday of young talent Lamine Yamal - has been seriously vandalized, amid the Barca star being embroiled in a controversial scandal related to a lavish and offensive birthday party.

The original painting depicted Yamal as a Superman with an “L” instead of an “S” on his chest, symbolizing the expectations the entire city of Barcelona had of him. But recently, journalist Edu Polo shared images showing the work crudely defaced with the “Seven Dwarfs” characters – believed to be a mockery of the alleged “exploitation of dwarfs” at Yamal’s birthday party.

Previously, there were fake images circulating online, but this time, according to confirmation from the reporter at the scene, the vandalism is real.

The incident stemmed from a birthday party held on July 13 - with about 200 guests, including friends, relatives and teammates - taking place at a private villa in the "Mafia" style. Photos from the party showed the appearance of people with achondroplasia (congenital dwarfism) and scantily clad models.

Some sources also said that the models were selected based on the criteria of "blonde hair, prominent bust" and were paid up to 20,000 euros to attend the party.

Lamine Yamal's picture on the wall was vandalized.

Spanish model Claudio Calvo, who was crowned Miss Teenager Europe 2022, revealed that she turned down the invitation after discovering inappropriate demands from the organizers. She said: “I don’t know exactly what they wanted, I was just told that I needed to have fun for 24 hours. They were looking for girls who looked like models or escorts.”

In response to the scandal, Jesus Martin, the Spanish government 's director general for people with disabilities, called for an official investigation. "We are concerned when we see people with money and power who think they are above the law. The law is equal for everyone - from the humble to the rich," he told Marca .

So far, Yamal and his agent have not made any statements. However, the incident is sparking a wave of strong criticism from the community, especially in the context of Yamal being a role model for many young fans.
