Lang Co Bay is one of Vietnam's most beautiful natural landmarks, a nearly pristine bay nestled at the foot of Hai Van Pass, with a flat beach, crystal-clear blue waters, and a diverse and rich ecosystem. The bay is situated between the two major cities of Hue and Da Nang, on the Central Vietnam Heritage Route "Phong Nha-Ke Bang-Hue Imperial City-Hoi An Ancient Town-My Son Sanctuary" and along the East-West Economic Corridor, which is on the path of integration and development.
In May 2009, at the 5th Summit of the Worldbays Club held in Setubal, Portugal, Lang Co Bay was elected as the 30th member of the Club.
Speaking at the celebration, Mr. Kang Byung Suk, Vice President of the Association of the World's Most Beautiful Bays, in charge of the Asia region, said that Lang Co Bay has been exemplary in representing and protecting the values and commitments of the Club, as well as excellently fulfilling the work of preserving the beauty, rich culture, biodiversity and sustainability of the Bay. The celebration is a testament to the achievements and commitment to always being at the forefront of protecting the health and economy of the Bays within the Club.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, affirmed that after 15 years of Lang Co joining the club and being recognized as a world-class beautiful bay, with the effective support of central and provincial ministries and agencies, along with the efforts of Phu Loc district, this area has experienced remarkable development. With its brand, Lang Co has attracted a large number of tourists for sightseeing and relaxation, contributing to the province's tourism development. Along with Chan May, Lang Co has become a favorite destination for domestic and international tourism and service investors, with many large-scale projects already underway.
Currently, Thua Thien Hue province is focusing on investing heavily in infrastructure development, while continuing to protect and preserve the natural values, stunning landscapes, and marine environment of Lang Co Bay, combined with investing in the development and promotion of the beautiful Lang Co Bay in an effective and sustainable manner.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, stated: “Lang Co has been identified as a key driving force for the development of the Chan May-Lang Co urban area. According to the provincial plan and the general urban plan, it serves as a bridge connecting heritage sites and is the final point of the East-West economic corridor. The province is determined to create the best conditions for Phu Loc district and Lang Co to complete its technical infrastructure so that Lang Co has the necessary conditions to access domestic and international tourism in the best possible way. We will strengthen efforts to create favorable conditions for Lang Co to develop tourism products worthy of its potential and strengths.”
