"Sharing in Spring - A Tết of Love and Compassion"

Thanks to the timely support of the government, the Fatherland Front, and philanthropists, 11 households whose houses were completely destroyed by a tornado in November 2025 in Huong Tra ward have quickly repaired their homes and stabilized their lives. Recently, at an early Tet gift-giving program organized by the Fatherland Front and political and social organizations of the ward, Mrs. Phan Thi Bich's family (79 years old, Ngoc Bich residential group) and other affected households received warm and meaningful gifts.

Within the framework of the program, the ward's relief fund presented 26 gift packages (each worth 500,000 VND) to residents of Huong Tra Dong residential area. In support of the local community, BIDV Bank provided 100 million VND to 11 households whose roofs were completely blown off and to Mr. Nguyen Thanh's household whose flower garden was damaged by the tornado; Bac A Bank also donated 50 gift packages (each worth 800,000 VND) to contribute to social welfare work and ensure a well-prepared Tet holiday for the people.

Ms. Bich shared that immediately after the natural disaster, the government and organizations from the ward to the neighborhood level focused all their efforts on helping people overcome the consequences. The joy was doubled when, this Tet holiday, people received thoughtful attention from the local authorities and the community. “I don’t know what more to say than to express my sincere gratitude. During the hardship, neighborhood officials came to our homes to visit and encourage us. Now that our houses are sturdy and we’ve received Tet gifts, we can all confidently welcome a new spring with great joy.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Huong Tra Ward, said that the focus of this year's Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations is the "Sharing Spring - Meaningful Tet" program, scheduled to take place on the 25th and 26th of the 12th lunar month at An Son Park. This activity aims to promote mutual support within the community, linked to the "Green Huong Tra - Green Action" model; and to strengthen the close relationship between the military and the people, with the support of officers and soldiers from Brigade 270. A highlight of the program is a competition for wrapping banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) and making traditional Tet jam among the solidarity groups. All completed products will be directly donated to poor households and those in difficult circumstances at the event.

In addition, the Ward Front coordinated the organization of "zero-cost stalls" providing essential goods and local specialties. By prioritizing the use of domestic materials, this activity also effectively promoted the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign. "The most valuable thing is that the residents in the area have voluntarily mobilized and contributed their efforts to create traditional products to share with those in need. Along with the mobilized resources and the joint efforts of Brigade 270, we hope that all people will feel the warmth and care during Tet," Ms. Thao shared.

Be creative and celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) with the people.

Along the spring roads, the journey of bringing Tet (Lunar New Year) to the poor by the Fatherland Front at all levels is taking place enthusiastically and full of compassion. Each gift given is not only material support but also encapsulates the love of the community for vulnerable lives on the eve of the new spring.

In Tam Ky ward, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward recently coordinated the "Aspiration for Life" program, distributing gifts to 11 poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households with a total budget of 100 million VND. Each gift, worth between 4 and 8 million VND, provided further motivation for these families to improve their lives. In particular, the program provided support to the three orphaned sisters Nguyen Thi My Duyen (Xuan Tay neighborhood) with 46.7 million VND, along with a television and a gas stove. This timely support not only ensures social welfare but also strongly promotes the spirit of "mutual assistance and compassion."

In Hiep Duc commune, preparations for Tet (Lunar New Year) have been meticulously underway. According to commune leaders, the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune have proactively implemented the "Hiep Duc Compassion" program, scheduled to take place on February 6th and 7th (the 19th and 20th of the 12th lunar month) at the commune's water park. This meaningful activity aims to celebrate the successful conclusion of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The highlight of the program is the handover ceremony of five new houses to households affected by natural disasters, along with a product networking market, a "zero-cost" stall, and scholarship awards, with a total mobilized resource of approximately 1.2 billion VND.

In collaboration with local authorities, this year, resources from the Central and city-level "For the Poor" Fund continue to be a solid foundation for providing Tet (Lunar New Year) support at the grassroots level. The city's "For the Poor" Fund alone allocated over 11.6 billion VND to distribute 11,660 gift packages (1 million VND per package). This year's plan also prioritizes orphanages, shelters for disadvantaged children, and specialized associations.

Nationwide, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has issued a plan for coordinating visits and gift-giving during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, with a total of nearly 30,000 gift packages. The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will allocate over 10,000 gift packages to serve delegations of Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front leaders visiting 34 provinces and cities. This activity is not simply about giving material gifts, but also an opportunity to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the people, contributing to strengthening trust and consolidating the close relationship between the Party, the State, and the people.
