Spreading the "Effective Mass Mobilization" model in Bac Tra My

One of the exemplary "Effective Mass Mobilization" models recognized at the district level in 2023 in Bac Tra My district is the model of mobilizing local women to make traditional beaded necklaces in Long Son village (Tra Son commune). When the community tourism development project was implemented, many tourist groups visited Cao Son village.

The Women's Union of Tra Son commune has mobilized its members in the village to string beads together to create jewelry reflecting the cultural identity of the Ca Dong people, to be used as souvenirs for tourists and displayed at fairs and exhibitions in the district. More than 20 local workers have found additional employment from bead stringing.

Ms. Ho Thom from Long Son village (Tra Son commune) said: “With guidance from the women's union of the commune, the women in our village bought bead materials and divided into two groups to string together products such as bracelets, necklaces, keychains… Each product sells for 25,000 - 50,000 VND, so the women in the village have had an additional source of income for their families.”

In Hamlet 3B (Tra Giac Commune), the "Effective People Mobilization" model, which mobilizes the people to restore the area of ​​wet rice cultivation in Hamlet 3B, has also yielded practical results.

In March 2023, the Bac Tra My District Protective Forest Management Board held a meeting to raise awareness and encourage residents of Hamlet 3B not to destroy or encroach upon natural forest areas for rice cultivation, as this is a violation of the Forestry Law.

The management board, in coordination with Tra Giac commune and the people of Hamlet 3B, provided machinery and labor to build a small dam to retain water and restore abandoned agricultural land in Dong Xung, covering an area of ​​over 1.1 hectares, for rice cultivation. The people of Hamlet 3B have cultivated and harvested over 4,700 kg of rice in the first summer-autumn crop.

According to the People's Mobilization Committee of Bac Tra My district, the entire district has 54 "Effective People's Mobilization" models in the fields of economy, culture and society, national defense and security, Party building and the political system. These models are all closely aligned with reality, have received the support and participation of the people, and have made important contributions to the successful implementation of political tasks in the district.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Le, Deputy Head of the People's Mobilization Committee of Bac Tra My district, said: "In the coming time, along with maintaining and sustainably developing effective models and exemplary examples of skillful people's mobilization, the Steering Committee of the 'Skilled People's Mobilization' movement in Bac Tra My district will continue to focus on leading the replication of models with a clear focus and priorities."

At the same time, emphasis should be placed on organizing thematic conferences to exchange and learn from experiences among communes and towns in the district in order to apply good and effective models.

Along with that, the district continues to build new models, arousing a sense of responsibility among officials, Party members, Youth Union members, association members, and the people in emulating this movement, working together to lift Bac Tra My out of poverty sustainably and build new rural areas.”
