The program airs at 6:15 PM every Saturday on Can Tho 1 channel of Can Tho Newspaper and Radio, Television.

“The Land and People of Can Tho” is a 15-20 minute program that introduces the people and places associated with the history of Can Tho and its ongoing contributions to the city's development. It showcases the lifestyles, customs, and cultural beauty that have been preserved over the years, and the people who silently contribute to maintaining the charm of their homeland. The program is structured into two parts: “Where the Land Blossoms” and “Shining Identity.”

“Where the Land Blooms” tells the story of the scenic spots and traditional craft villages that make up the distinctive character of Can Tho. Like the beauty of Vi Thuy betel village (Vinh Thuan Dong commune), considered the “Kingdom of Betel Leaves” of the Mekong Delta. The betel here is a golden variety, with thick, fragrant leaves and a characteristic spicy flavor. For over a hundred years, betel cultivation has not only been a livelihood for the local people but also a memorable brand: “Vi Thuy Golden Betel.” This is also one of the rare betel villages in the Mekong Delta recognized as a traditional craft village.

"Where the Land Blooms" is not just a depiction of the beauty of scenic spots or traditional crafts, but also of the simple people who make a living in their homeland. The beauty of their labor, derived from local products, has created an attraction for the region. This is the journey of preserving the traditional craft of making pickled radishes in Vinh Chau – a place known for its selective crops. However, the sandy alluvial soil and sandy ridges are perfectly suited to growing white radishes – the main ingredient in pickled radishes. Here, the white radishes are delicious and yield high productivity, thus giving rise to a unique craft in Can Tho: the pickled radish making industry.

"Shining Identity" also includes creative initiatives to not only preserve but also spread local cultural identity in the modern, integrated rhythm of life. A prime example is the story of the Cau Duc pineapple growing area (pictured) in Hoa Luu commune. The soil here is largely saline and acidic, yet it is suitable for pineapple cultivation. Cau Duc pineapples are low in fiber, high in water content, have a vibrant yellow flesh, and a sweet, refreshing taste, making them the basis for many specialties of Can Tho cuisine . Among these is the record of 100 delicious dishes made from pineapple, contributing to the preservation of the unique culinary values of the locality. "Shining Identity" is also a journey of preserving the cultural beauty of the ethnic groups living in Can Tho. In this, stories of preserving ethnic identity are shared by many artisans and communities with passion and love for their homeland.

"The Land and People of Can Tho" provides viewers with useful knowledge about the scenic spots, culture, people, and customs of the locality. It is not only a journey of connection and preservation but also of spreading cultural values with a strong national identity.
