Officers and soldiers of Company 2, Battalion 7, Regiment 209 visited and learned about the unit's traditions.

Seventy years have passed, but the spirit and enthusiasm of the " Dien Bien soldiers" of yesteryear still serve as a guiding light, inspiring the officers and soldiers of the unit to continuously strive, uphold traditions, and resolutely fulfill all assigned tasks.

Present at the visit to the Song Lo River Martyrs Monument by the new recruits of Company 2, Battalion 7, Lieutenant Duong Duy Anh, Deputy Political Officer of the Company, enthusiastically introduced: “The history of Regiment 209 is intertwined with glorious victories, including the Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954. This is an honor, a source of pride, and a motivation for us to continue to inherit, develop, and strive to successfully complete all tasks.”

These days, emulating the spirit of the "Dien Bien Phu soldiers" in carrying out their duties, Lieutenant Phan Ba Hanh, Platoon Leader of Platoon 2, Company 12, Battalion 9, along with his comrades, are racing against time, striving to excellently complete the training for the parade and march serving the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

He was entrusted by his commander with the task of leading the flag bearer unit of the Division. To successfully complete the task, he diligently practiced every day, taking advantage of breaks and days off to further train himself. Phan Bá Hạnh confided: "Participating in the training for the parade and march at the anniversary celebration makes me feel very proud and determined to work with my comrades to successfully fulfill the assigned task."

Following the 209th Regiment's 2024 training commencement ceremony and the launch of the emulation campaign "Following in the footsteps of the Dien Bien Phu soldiers, striving to achieve '3 bests'," aimed at rekindling the pride and spirit of the "Dien Bien Phu soldiers" of the past among officers and soldiers, the Party Committee and command of the 209th Regiment organized many activities to propagate and educate the troops on traditions with diverse content and forms, such as: traditional talks, exchanges with historical witnesses who participated in the fighting at the Dien Bien Phu front...

To ensure that traditional educational content truly permeates the troops, the Regiment organizes propaganda through the internal broadcasting system, bulletin boards, and commendations of good people and good deeds... As a result of the first week of training, all subjects met the requirements; the content of the political awareness and awareness of the unit's traditions met the requirements, with nearly 83% achieving good or excellent results.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Ky, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Regiment 209, stated: “In the past period, the Party Committee and the Regiment's command have led and directed agencies and units to strengthen political and ideological education for officers and soldiers, ensuring they have a full understanding of the position, role, significance, and historical value of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, and the honor and pride of studying and working at Regiment 209. Along with that, we continue to do a good job of propaganda, spreading the spirit of the “Dien Bien Phu soldier,” building a strong will and unwavering belief among the troops, mastering weapons and equipment, and possessing a courageous spirit to successfully complete all tasks.”
