On the evening of March 5th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union organized the final round and awards ceremony of the 2023 Ho Chi Minh City Elegant Ao Dai Contest. The contest was part of the 9th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival.
According to the organizers, this year's Elegant Ao Dai Contest has nearly 400 contestants registered for Category A (individuals) and nearly 30 groups participating in Category B.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Beauty Contest has become a meeting point for ao dai lovers from all over the country.
Meritorious Artist and director Le Nguyen Dat, representing the judging panel, stated that the Elegant Ao Dai Contest aims to promote national cultural identity and honor the Vietnamese Ao Dai.
"The ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) is increasingly becoming ingrained in the consciousness and is the choice of every citizen in Ho Chi Minh City. This year, the contestants and participating units all made serious investments, the competition content reflected real life and made a strong impression on the judges," director Le Nguyen Dat commented.
The online Ao Dai contest attracted nearly 400 individuals and 30 groups to register.
Following the exciting competitions, the organizers of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival awarded first prize to three contestants in categories A and B: Le Thi Anh Nga, Nguyen Kim Phung, and Nguyen Dang Khoa, along with several other prizes.
The organizing committee also summarized and awarded 29 prizes to individuals and groups who won in the "Online Ao Dai" contest, and 16 prizes to groups and individuals who participated in this contest.
The organizing committee presents awards for the Online Ao Dai Contest.
Accordingly, the first prize for the team category went to the Trade Union of the Office of the Delegation of the National Assembly and the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, and the first prize for the individual category went to contestant Hoang Thi Bich Duyen from the Trade Union of the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that the competition not only aims to honor the beauty of the ao dai but also contributes to shaping the aesthetic sense of ao dai fashion in life. This is also an opportunity for locals and tourists to express their love for the Vietnamese ao dai.
