On the evening of March 5, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union organized the final night and awarded prizes for the 2023 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Charming Contest. The contest is part of the 9th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival.

According to the organizers, this year's Ao Dai Charming contest has nearly 400 contestants registered for group A - individuals and nearly 30 groups competing in group B.

The Charming Ao Dai Contest in Ho Chi Minh City has become a meeting place for Ao Dai lovers from all regions of the country.

Meritorious Artist, Director Le Nguyen Dat, representative of the Jury, said that the Ao Dai Charming contest has the element of orienting national cultural identity and honoring Vietnamese Ao Dai.

"Ao dai is increasingly entering the consciousness and becoming the choice of every citizen of the city. This year, the contestants and participating units all made serious investments, the contest content was inspired by life and impressed the judges," commented director Le Nguyen Dat.

The Online Ao Dai Contest attracted nearly 400 individuals and 30 groups to register.

After exciting competitions, the organizing committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival awarded first prize to three contestants in groups A and B: Le Thi Anh Nga, Nguyen Kim Phung and Nguyen Dang Khoa, along with many secondary prizes.

The Organizing Committee also summarized and awarded 29 prizes to individuals and groups that won prizes in the "Online Ao Dai" contest and 16 prizes to groups and individuals participating in this contest.

Accordingly, the first collective prize belongs to the Trade Union of the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the City People's Council, the first individual prize belongs to contestant Hoang Thi Bich Duyen, Trade Union of the City People's Court.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that the contest not only aims to honor the beauty of Ao Dai but also contributes to the aesthetic orientation of Ao Dai fashion in life. This is also an opportunity for people and tourists to express their love for Vietnamese Ao Dai.
