Mr. Phat said: Yellow apricot blossoms are considered one of the symbolic flowers of Tet, because they are the "soul" that creates the Tet atmosphere, so they are very popular with people. The psychology of apricot blossom players is always to like apricot trees with large flowers, many buds, bright yellow color and especially must bloom right on New Year's Eve. However, apricot is a tree that is sensitive to the weather, requiring growers to understand the techniques to care for and handle it promptly so that it will bloom right on Tet. Therefore, to ensure that the yellow apricot blossoms bloom at the right time and beautifully, from the 10th to the 15th of the 12th lunar month, gardeners begin to pick leaves and prune apricot branches.

According to Mr. Phat, last year, the weather was unfavorable, hot and sunny, with a lot of unseasonal rain, so the apricot blossoms bloomed a bit early compared to Tet. However, this year the weather is more favorable, the dry season comes early, the sun is not too harsh, and there is little unseasonal rain, so the rate of apricot blossoms blooming early is quite low. However, this year is a leap year, so we have to fertilize and spray pesticides... to prevent the apricot blossoms from blooming early. Currently, the yellow apricot trees in Mr. Phat's garden are all growing well, and it is predicted that the rate of flowering in time for Tet will be much higher than last year. With an average price of 2 - 4 million VND/tree, Mr. Phat hopes to sell over 100 yellow trees during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024.

Here, every house grows yellow apricot flowers to a greater or lesser extent. In the spring, yellow apricot flowers bloom all over the neighborhood, making the Tet atmosphere even more joyful, but when yellow apricot flowers sell for a good price, people are even more excited."

Thanks to dedicated care, combined with many years of yellow apricot growing techniques, the apricot gardens in Xuan Dong commune are always lush, ensuring products for the market every time Tet comes and spring comes. Chairman of Xuan Dong Commune People's Committee Nguyen Van Muoi said: The profession of growing yellow apricot in the commune has been around for decades. Previously, growing apricot was an elegant hobby, but over time, people's demand for ornamental plants has become more and more diverse, especially during each traditional Tet holiday, yellow apricot trees are indispensable in the house. And this year, farmers in Xuan Dong commune planted over 30 hectares of area with more than tens of thousands of yellow apricot trees to serve the 2024 Lunar New Year. Currently, farmers are pruning young branches and adding nutrients to the trees to ensure that the apricot trees bloom beautifully and last long during Tet.
