As part of the 500-day campaign to intensify the search, collection, and identification of the remains of fallen soldiers, on June 24th, the Steering Committee for the Search, Collection, and Identification of the Remains of Fallen Soldiers in Ha Tinh province, in coordination with the Department of Internal Affairs and the People's Committee of Duc Tho commune, organized the collection of DNA samples from 24 unidentified graves of fallen soldiers at the Duc Tho Martyrs' Cemetery. Here, the authorities are divided into several specialized teams, including: a general command and control team; a sampling and data digitization team; a team for excavating, relocating the remains of fallen soldiers, and restoring their graves; and a team for ensuring security and order.
For the 24 unidentified martyrs' graves, each grave has been assigned a unique identification code, and the data has been fully recorded and digitized. Every location and piece of information on the tombstones is carefully updated to ensure absolute accuracy, effectively serving the process of DNA tracing and analysis in the future. Once the graves are photographed and digitized into the system, the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team of the Ha Tinh Provincial Military Command will proceed to open the graves according to the prescribed technical procedures. The entire process is closely monitored and fully documented to ensure absolute safety and prevent any disturbance or loss of remains or related artifacts.
